Summary: A Well Researched Approach On Ancestrial Mysteries
Review: Back in the 70's I had a class from Professor Noorbergen at Southern Adventist University near Chattanooga. His classroom prowess is well reflected in his book

I remember when he went on some of his expeditions, "In Search" of Noah's Ark, etc., and heard various lectures he gave involving several of the topics he expounded on in "Secrets of the Lost Races".

The majority of his conclusions are based on extensive research, including his personal expeditions to discover and to verify information before positing his theories.

He seems to have given credulity to some of the claims that Christian Archeaologists have been saying for many years, some of which they may have based on hope, or faith.

He appears quite objective and makes very strong arguments for a created race that was very advanced, went backwards, often due to selfdestructive tendencies, and who now are on the upward swing again.

Check out this book by a persevering, well-educated scientist, who refused to make claims without substantial facts and research to support them.

Summary: Shattering pre-conceived scientific thought
Review: Everyone who has ever asked the questions, "Why am I here?" or "Where did we come from?" should read this book. Evolutionary science has long maintained that the human race started out as small micro-organisms in ancient primordial soup. This book challenges that assertion quite well. If you are a thinker, this book is for you. It is to bad that the book is out of print. Mr. Noorbergen died some years ago, leaving the disposition of his writings in the hands of his family. This book needs to be re-printed. It is a valuable tool for a modern society much in need of a compass to plot it's course into the next millenium.

Summary: A Greatly Underestimated Work
Review: Noorbergen does a grat job of gathering evidence from various sources to provide a sensible alternative theory of human history. This older work is well worth the time invested in reading it.

Summary: Solving ancient mysteries
Review: Noorbergen has done well to solve all those anceint mysteries by providing enough evidences. It made me think again about lots of things that I used to believe were the facts. Reading this book gives me some kind of satisfaction that I was not getting reading all those advanced theories. If you keep looking for answers about our ancient civilization, this is the book for you.

Summary: Excellent!! A highly recommended antidote to von-Daniken!
Review: Noorbergen is a breath of fresh air when it comes to the whole 'ancient astronauts' problem. His attempt to look at the evidence for some sort of prehistoric advanced civilization from a Biblical standpoint is a welcome relief from the 'true believers' who often sell humanity short by over-reliance upon the visiting extraterrestrial hypothesis in order to explain 'ooparts' or amazing feats of human accomplishment. This book's open-minded approach is also a welcome change from that of the hard-core scientific skeptic who often refuses to even consider the evidence for advanced prehistoric technology. Noorbergen may be a bit gullible at times; but, even so, this book is one of the best introductions on the subject of prehistoric advanced civilizations for any interested Christian person who wishes to avoid the high level of bullcrap out there. Good reading!

Summary: A logical way to approach archeology that is THE best fit.
Review: Noorbergen makes perfect sense out of "out of place" artifacts that have been found and ancient ruins that predate known history. His arguments for advanced civilizations predating history are the most convincing I've ever read and he does it without delving into any fantasy about alien visitors. History has a funny way of repeating itself and this book is also a warning about where we might be headed.

Summary: A valuable source of ignored information, despite its age
Review: Noorbergen's classic text on archeological anomalies that confound the established picture of human prehistory and suggest that an advanced global civilization thrives on this planet in the remote past is a treasure trove of information. In that respect, it is similar to the more recent "Forbidden Archeology" by Cremo and Thompson, and to works by Graham Hancock. The main difference is that Noorbergen accepts as evidence biblical accounts of a flood, and of a line of (very long-lived) patriarchs descended from the survivors of that flood. Even though I do not believe in the historical veracity of the biblical texts, his case did not seem to be without merit; still, non-christian readers will probably find that part of the book lacking in credibility.

Luckily, the remainder of the book relies more on archeological than scriptural evidence. Highlights include chapter 4, which discusses evidence for "Advanced Aviation in Prehistoric Times", and chapter 5, "Nuclear Warfare Among the "Primitives". Noorbergen's claim of nuclear warfare in prehistoric times may seem preposterous to even an open-minded reader, and his interpretation of ancient texts to be the product of an overactive imagination, but as a matter of fact, it is backed up by solid physical evidence. The following story ran on the Cosmiverse website on June 13, 2000:

[Quote] From 1992 comes another fascinating, mysterious discovery: that of an ancient city in India that appears to have leveled by an atomic blast 8,000 - 10,000 years ago. Reported in January 1992 by the UK's World Island Review, a construction team discovered the site in Rajasthan, India while preparing to build at housing development.

The heavy layer of radioactive ash found in a three-mile-square area concealed "an ancient city where evidence shows an atomic blast dating back thousands of years, from 8,000 to 12,000 years, destroyed most of the buildings and probably a half-million people. One researcher estimates that the nuclear bomb used was about the size of the ones dropped on Japan in 1945," said the newspaper.

After its discovery, the ancient city became suspect as the cause of a high rate of birth defects and cancer in the region. "The levels of radiation there (the city site) have registered so high on investigators' gauges that the Indian government has now cordoned off the region," said the newspaper.

Interestingly, the Indian Mahabharata appears to have recorded the historic blast event. "A single projectile charged with all the power in the Universe...An incandescent column of smoke and flame as bright as 10,000 suns, rose in all its splendor...it was an unknown weapon, an iron thunderbolt, a gigantic messenger of death which reduced to ashes an entire race," says the sacred text.

Archeologist Francis Taylor told the paper that etchings in some nearby temples he has managed to translate suggest that they prayed to be spared from the great light that was coming to lay ruin to the city. "It's so mid-boggling to imagine that some civilization had nuclear technology before we did. The radioactive ash adds credibility to the ancient Indian records that describe atomic warfare." [End of Quote]

Noorbergen wrote his book in 1977, before this discovery was made.

Despite its age, I can wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in taking off the blinders of conventional consensus and learning about the true history of the human race.

Summary: A logical solution to the mysteries of the ancients
Review: Of all the books I have read on the mysteries of the ancient civilizations, this book is the best. Most books dealing with this subject are full of far-fetched theories, such as contact with space aliens. Rene Noorbergen approached the subject from a different angle-- by rejecting the current thinking that mankind progessed from a primitive background (from simple stone tools) to higher civilization. Instead, he maintains that mankind was intelligent from the start and was able to develop technology early on in history. He offers a wealth of archaeological evidences to support this view. This is a rare book that challenges the whole secular view of archaeology and history, and I highly recommend it to anyone who question the validity of what is being taught in universities on the subject of early civilizations.

Summary: Adventures and answers
Review: This is a must for anyone who believes in creation, evolution, ufo's, superhumans, dinosaurs, ancient civilizations, and for those who relish a challenge to your normal way of thinking. Even though this was published in 1977, it is amazing to see how deeply Rene's thoughts have come true and to the forefront in recent discoveries.

If you desire a challenge, a need to know...this book is for you.

The book I have was my father's. When he passed away, I took it, read it, read it again and was hooked from the beginning. It answered many questions and has driven me to look at many things in a new light. It is now a well worn book that I fiercely cherish. Any book that helps us learn something is worth keeping
