Summary: Compassionate, Wonderful
Review: Dr. Diering provides the sensitivity, compassion and passion to which every heathcare provider (and patient) should aspire. This book is beautifully written and should be required reading for every medical student, physician, nurse, EMT and everyone else working with patients. If everyone took this book to heart, patient satisfaction scores would sore. Our healthcare is the best in the world but without taking the time to listen and respond, we fall short. This book will not only change the way we practice but also the way our patients respond. Finally, if you want to reduce medical malpractice suits, read this book.

Summary: Enhanced for the reader with extensive references
Review: Love Your Patients!: Essential Behaviors That Enrich The Lives Of Patients & Caregivers by Dr. Scott Louis Diering (a practicing emergency medicine physician in Maryland, where he is also a Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Maryland medical school) persuasively argues that it is love, respect, and humility which lie at the heart of the successful medical caretaker whether that caretaker be a doctor, a nurse, or a paraprofessional. This thesis is wonderful illustrated by a series of true life stories. Of special note is the final section titled "The Art of Agape". Enhanced for the reader with extensive references and a "user friendly" index, Love Your Patients! should be mandatory reading for the students of every medical school and nursing college in the country.

Summary: This is a fantastic book! Buy this book!
Review: This is a well written, balanced guide for improving your interpersonal skills. Although written for healthcare professionals, it is very readable and anyone could pick it up and enjoy it.
I have been very pleased with the improvements I have made in my life and my practice since I have read this book. It is not religious or anything. It clearly defines what we need to do so that we will be liked, that's all. Then, it gives example stories. Some of the stories are really funny, too!
It is well written, fast, easy reading and very sage.
(I review it anonymously now so no one knows the secret of my transformation and how poorly I used to relate to other people! I plan to give this book to several nerdy colleagues.)
