Review: As far as hand books go I am somewhat disappointed in this text. Even once you get past the rather ... feel of the handbook you can't help but be disappointed by the typos, especially for a text which has been copyrighted three times but still gives you the feeling that it never made it past its first edition. With this in mind, the text does cover a wide variety of topics and pearls in an outline format. If you are looking for a small, lightweight guide to give you high-yield basics without any detail or elaboration and enjoy reading multiple lighthearted quotes of little if any clinical value, then go for it. However, especially if you are interested in medicine, you will feel more comfortable being seen with Tarascon's Internal Medicine and Critical Care Pocketbook, which I feel is superior given its numerous charts and tables, as well as appopriate details and brief discussions, not a laundry list.

Summary: A Great Pocket Book!
Review: I found this handy, pocket book immensly useful in my intern year. This contains a lot of medical pearls in a well organised way. The last part of the book which discusses patient management based on the symptoms will be defenitely beneficial to any resident especially in the initial years. I highly recommend this book to all my colleagues. I wish if it had a more detailed account on the medciations and some more disease processes too. Just put this book in your coat pocket and you will definitely survive the intern year!
