Summary: Excellent Clinical Drug Information Resource
Review: As a clinical pharmacy practitioner with a doctor of pharmacy degree, this is the one reference I reach for time and time again. The monographs are clear, concise and easy to use. The appendicies and comparative drug charts are excellent. There are also summarized guidelines, protocols, drug interactions, etc. for quick reference. I highly recommend this handbook.

Summary: The pharmacists' bible
Review: As an NP student I needed a drug reference with all of the information I learned in pharmacology, to safely prescribe medications. This was it. Plus herbal interactions if available. It also is organized alphabetically, which is great, because you just go to the page you need -- no need for an index.

Summary: The pharmacists' bible
Review: I think every American pharmacist and pharmacy student should have a copy of this book. The appendices with charts and labs are also very useful info.

Summary: This is the BEST drug guide that I have used
Review: The Drug Information Handbook by Lacy et al is the single best drug guide that I have used. I keep it handy both on my desk and in my bag when I make visits to patients in the field. I advise all of my staff of nurses and hospice physicians to obtain a copy on a regular basis as it is the most concise reference book in the field. I supervise a hospice program and in that context I am speaking with pharmacists, physicians and families on a regular basis. I buy a new copy every year. It was with relief that I disposed of my nursing drug guides a number of years ago and switched to the Lacy guide.

Summary: Unbelievably Good
Review: This drug handbook is without a doubt the best quick reference guide to drug information. I'm really glad I was required to buy it in pharmacy school. I buy a new edition every year for home and at the pharmacy. It should be a required reference material for every pharmacy. Lacy et al is listed as the author, but the handbook is sponsored by the American Pharmaceutical Association.

Summary: The Bible of Pharmacy
Review: This is the absolute bible of pharmacy. This is a good reference for generic/brand names, drug class, drug interactions, etc. There are also some very useful drug charts and treatment guidelines in the back of the book. However, it is a little weak on OTC drugs. Overall, this is an excellent portable medical reference.
