Introduction to Diagnostic Microbiology: A Text and Workbook

Summary: Great for Medical Laboratory Technologists
Review: I am a Medical Technologist who is retraining in the microbiology lab. This book has been a lifesaver for me. It's a concise and practical review. Just the right amount of information. It's fairly easy to read and includes many practical lab procedures as well as theory.
Also the information is up-to-date. I highly recommend this book to hospital/medical lab people.

Review: This text puts all the information from the each chapter into concise, easy to follow flow charts and tables. At the end of each chapter are study questions, standard lab procedures, and descriptions of media used in the micro lab, what is in the media, and why it is in it. The specimen flow charts were very heplful. For each common specimens received in the lab, the flow chart will tell you step by step what to do to ID the organism based on Gram stain, biochemical reactions, colony morphology, etc. It was nice to have all that info in one place instead of having to turn back and forth through several chapters. Wonderful text for anyone starting out working in a micro lab.
