Summary: Not showing material in a fashion way
Review: Lamperti's writing style is pleasant in reading. He cover his material for one-semester Probability Theory in his own way. So if your teacher use some classics text, Lamperti can hardly be a good companion. Also, there are too many "refer to Billingsley" or "refer to Royden" in this book. You may feel frustrated if you only have this book for course. I wonder who would use this book for the only required text. It may be a classic before, but unlike other classic (e.g. Kai-Lai Chung) which become typical structure of Prob. theory text, it is out of fashion
