Summary: This book could have been much better
Review: As a graduate or advanced undergraduate Limnology text book, this one is lacking. There are many errors in the text and the figures, which is inexcusable for a second edition (p. 29 first complete sentence, p.33 first paragraph, p. 34 "Lake Madison" just to mention a few). I would strongly suggest Limnology: Lake and River Ecosystems by Robert G. Wetzel (ISBN 0127447601). It is unquestionably more detailed and contains more references useful to students and researchers. I was disappointed with this book and strongly recommend the Wetzel book as an alternative.

Review: I enjoyed this textbook. Unlike most texts it was engaging AND informative. The text and diagrams are well integrated and a number of important concepts are covered well. This text could be improved by adding additional color photographs.

Summary: An easy to follow, but very informative book for all levels.
Review: This book covers the main issues of Limnology, and compiles them into an easy to read, well descriptive text. Also includes good diagrams for the more complicated aspects. Suitable for those with a fair knowledge of Biology and Chemistry.
