Review: Editor William Roberts, MD, of the American Journal of Cardiology writes in his "Good Books in Cardiovascular Disease Appearing in 1999" that the Manual of Lipid Disorders "is an excellent book. I use it frequently." Although the book is written for the physician reader, it may also be helpful for the educated layperson interested in knowing cutting-edge information about reducing risk for coronary heart disease. There is an extensive discussion of the concept of rupture-prone, or vulnerable, plaques featured in January 2000 on ABC's 20/20.
