Summary: An exellent overview of assays used by medicnal plant resear
Review: This book collates many of the known methods for evaluating the pharmacological activity of plant extracts. It highlights useful invitro assays such as anti inflammatory, cardiovascular and respiratory areas aswell as natural products that affect the nervous system, endocrine system and the gastro intestinal tract. All these in vitro and in vivo models are conveniently placed in one book. My only reservation is that the book relies heavily on animal experimental models for validation and I would have preferred a book that included more information on alternatives to animal experiments and also more studies relating to human pharmacology.
