Review: I purchased Netter's Internal Medicine in an effort to better understand the diseases and trauma I am experiencing with age. As a product consultant, I also wanted a handy reference to enhance my understanding of my clients' specialties and their products. Netter's Internal Medicine meets both needs very well. Organized by specific diseases and trauma, the topics are well presented, up-to-date, and understandable to non-physicians. Each chapter is written by a physician known as an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of the condition. Although each chapter is written by a different physician, the material is consistently presented. One of the great strengths of the book is the illustrations that accompany each chapter, which vividly depict the disease process within the body and its effect on the individual. Access to a medical dictionary will make some of the terms easier to understand, but in general lay readers should have no difficulty comprehending this material.
