Rating: Summary: These books have got to be the greatest novels written. Review: The best novels I've ever read.I read them everyday and have three videos made from them. Over forty hours of tapes and five 100page artbooks. Nothing can beat these. I agree sincerely with the person who said,"If by the age of fourteen you have read the Lord of the rings and do not love them, there is obviously something wrong with you." No truer words were ever spoken!!
Rating: Summary: Had me guessing all the way! Review: I read the Hobbit and there was never a dullmoment. lots of little bits of history were tucked in the book and made me want to read further. I now HAVE to read all of the other Hobbit books.
Rating: Summary: greatest book on earth Review: Tolkien is the best writer of the 20th century. What we really love is not just his work, but Middle-earth and everything in it...
Rating: Summary: The Greatest Book/Trilogy of the Century Review: This fantastic work transports you back to a time where magicla rings and strange meetings changed the life of a small hobbit and the most powerful dark being in Middle earth... welcome to a new world to all who have never read this book beofre, and welcome back to those who have. A DEFINITE MUST-READ.
Rating: Summary: Mostly wonderful, but... Review: Thank God for the teacher who introduced me to the books when I was twelve--they almost instantly became some of my favorite books. I think enough positive reviews have been written here that I don't really need to go through everything I loved about them, since I'd only be repeating everyone else. However, there were a few things that bothered me about the book. First, there didn't seem to be a whole lot of character development, apart from Frodo and possibly Sam. Second, I always found myself wishing that at least one of the awesome female characters could have been given a larger role, instead of just hovering almost ornamentally in the background. I realize that this is just a matter of personal preference, though, so don't get on my case about it. I still think that The Lord of the Rings is one of the best literary works ever!
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT Review: Read Tolkien and shiver..
Rating: Summary: It could not possibly get any better han this! Review: Anyone who did not or would not give this a 5 star review either needs their heads examined or knows nothing about fantasy. Tolkien is the grandfather of fantasy and deserves to go down in history as the greatest fantasy writer ever. Every fantasy book since, has been influenced the Hobbit and the Lord of The Rings. I have read over 200 fanyasy books since and very few even come close.
Rating: Summary: one wish Review: people often ask the question "if you had one wish, what would it be?" after reading these books my one wish would be to live in Middle Earth and play a role as one of the characters in the story. these are and will always be the greatest books ever written
Rating: Summary: These are the greatest books I have ever read. Review: I have read through The Trilogy twice now. They are the best books I have ever read.
Rating: Summary: the best book ever Review: lord of the rings is the master of all books and that is a fac
