Rating: Summary: The best Time-travel Science Fiction Book I've ever read Review: This book had a great premise, that a person could die and be transported back in time by unknown forces to a point earlier in his/her life. The main character, Jeff Winston, dies in the first sentence of the book, and is transported back to his college dorm 25 years before. Everything is as it was except that he remembers the next 25 years. And this cycle occurs repeatedly to Jeff and two other Replayers he locates. The concept was facinating but how it was developed is what made this book impossible to put down. Character development and plot were excellent. Never read a better science fiction book, never read a book that better held my interest.
Rating: Summary: Good if you don't read the whole middle section! Review: I was shocked to find that so many people enjoyed this book. I was very interested at first of course. Who wouldn't be? The main character dies in the first section. I enjoyed the replays until it got to about the 3rd one. Once, twice was enough. It took me forever to get into it after the 3rd replay. It dragged on, and I found the characters to be annoying. However, I will admit there was a great ending to it. One, I won't soon forget, but I would rather forget the 200 pages in between.
Rating: Summary: Knowledge, Time and Another Chance! Review: The only book I've ever read where the main character dies in the first sentence! Time travel stories rarely hold together because too many details of the altered past cause it to break apart. But Grimwood weaves this tale so cleanly and lets us relive the past, IN THE FUTURE. And as you read this book, some of the most enticing things you'll wonder about, you don't dare say out loud. Your thoughts are prisoners in the privacy of your mind. THIS makes it so powerful! Replay is destined to be a classic read. I've recommended this book often and NO ONE has been disappointed.
Rating: Summary: You must read it again and again Review: I bought this book when it was first published. I've read it five times and never get tired of it. It's the only book that I will not loan out because i'm afraid I won't get it back!
Rating: Summary: You must read this....again and again and again.... Review: I have read this book several times. I always pick up any I find at the used book stores and give them away to friends and family. It really gets a conversation going.
Rating: Summary: Life-altering book !! Review: This is one of those books( Catcher In the Rye / The Stand) that makes you take a second look at your life. I have read it atleast 10 times and I never tire of it. GREAT STORY !! Where's the movie ??? All the lousy movies with no stories out there and this gem lies untouched !!!
Rating: Summary: worth several replays Review: I have read this brilliant novel at least four times. It's basic premise-- that one can re-live his life knowing everything that's going to happen and therefore make different choices-- is a long time fantasy for not only me, but others, I'm sure. It is a powerful story, one that resonates with you long after you've finished. I wish Mr. Grimwood was more prolific.
Rating: Summary: A perfect novel Review: This is truly a perfect novel. It is easy to read, but the story is so unique and well developed. The characters and their troubles are so tangible... it truly gives you a different outlook on life.
Rating: Summary: I stayed up all night reading this one! Review: I read this book in one sitting, and didn't even notice how late it was getting.
Rating: Summary: One my VERY favorite books, ever. Would make a great movie. Review: The idea of this book is brilliant. The concept is not new, but it is written with wonderful characters and possibilities. The main character dies only to wake up in his college dorm. Lives to a certain age every time, and --replays. I really loved this book and have read it at least three times. It would make a great movie in the right hands.
