Rating: Summary: An awesome epic adventure fit for the lion throne of Andor! Review: Robert Jordan has created a fantasy of epic proportions and expert detail. Having read my fair share of fantasy novels I was in utter shock when I picked up "The eye of the World". Never before had a story mezmorized me so completely. I found myself crying when the characters suffered and laughing when they got thier revenge. I have only one regret about reading this series, THAT FUTURE BOOKS WILL PALE IN COMPARISON AND NOT GET THE RESPECT THE DESERVE. Jordan has achieved perfection and I await the next chapter in the lives of the Dragon Reborn and his co-stars Matt and Perrin! ROBERT JORDAN - My life has been the persuit of the perfect book, you gave me seven. Thank you!
Rating: Summary: Wheel of Time...very true Review: The wheel of time turns....
A line from Jordan's excellent epic. The Wheel of Time is an epic, of titanic proportions. The character development is slow and graduated, you have the opportunity to grow with each of the characters as their abilities and experience grows. I have found the story engaging and cliffhanging, yet at times disjaunted and frustrating. However, an epic of nearly 4,000 pages can be expected to slow at some points. I recommend this series to all avid fantasy readers, but be forewarned. The Wheel of Time turns...it is descriptive of the time recquired to read this novel story
Rating: Summary: TOO LONG Review: How can anyone call Tolkein a "lesser" author, let alone put Jordan above him? Comparisons aside, the first book of the series "Eye of the World" was very good, and I enjoyed it immensely: it had interesting characters, a plot that moved forward with direction and purpose, and a definite borrowing from other traditions that lent it the weight of literary and cultural history. However, the series should only have been five books, it's not up to seven with no end in sight. Everything since the second book has felt like filler. I can't remember a single event from the third through seventh books because none were memorable enough for me to remember. For five books (roughly 3,500 pages) the plot has stalled, the characters have become annoying, and I just don't enjoy it anymore. The only reason I keep reading is that after reading the first book, I developed a certain affection for the characters, and so now I need to know what happens to them in the end. But I would not recommened anyone new take up this series. Yes, the first book is excellent, but it's not worth the sludge you oblige yourself to trudge through by reading it
Rating: Summary: INCREDIBLE Review: WARNING!!! If you are new to the science fiction/fantasy genre then my recommendation is that you start with lesser authors such as Tolkein and Williams. Once you've read the Wheel of Time series, by Robert Jordan, all other authors will pale by comparison. No other author can develop a character or environment like Robert Jordan. You can not merely read The Wheel of Time - you will enter a whole new world! The main characters will become your friends and their enemies will become your enemies. The pages of the Wheel of Time are a gateway to another world..
Rating: Summary: Wheel of time ,by Robert Jordan, is an excellent series. Review: The Wheel of Time series, by Robert Jordan, is an excellent, evolving story about a group of people trying to save thier world form Shia'tan, The Dark One. The story starts out with a small group of people preparing for a feast day in thier villege when a group of trollocs and mydrals attacks.
From that point it cronicals the ever winding webs of intrigue detailing the involvement of each caracter in the epic struggle.
Be prepared to wait for the next book, book seven arrived in 1996, book eight projected in 1998.
Rating: Summary: If you miss it, they will come and take you away!!! Review: The Wheel of Time Series are (7)books that can only be discribed as the EPIC to end all epics. The books are rich in characters. Jordan imagination must have worked over time to create this one........
You feel and smell and live and die with the characters in these books.......
If you thought the Star Wars series was incredible READ THE WHEEL OF TIME......
Rating: Summary: The best series out there Review: This series is the best books ever. The charactors are wll thought
out and very real.. It is like stepping into a new world that
you never want to leave. If you can put it down, you'll be picking
it back up within 2 minutes. Don't deprive yourself!!
Rating: Summary: The best fantasy series of the century. A must read. Review: Everyone that has ever been interested in the genre should
read this series. Strong character development draws you
into the world untill you feel like it's your own. Wonderful new creatures, places, and ideas make the whole
experience colorfull and rich. After the first 60 pages
you'll be DYING to know what happens next!
Rating: Summary: Also Try Review: Love reading fantasy novels? Do yourself a favor and read Steven Erikson's Malazan series. Gardens of the Moon is now available in the U.S. Or you an order the entire series from Amazon.co.uk
