Rating: Summary: Ylesia (Star Wars: The New Jedi Order) [DOWNLOAD: MICROSOFT Review: When will the Ballantine Group learn of Adobe Acrobat Reader? I WOULD buy this if I could view it.
Rating: Summary: Action from the NJO Review: Ylesia takes place during one of the periods of Destiny's Way. Storywise, it fits right in, almost as if it was a small part of the book that didn't make the final cut in the editing room. In Ylesia, the Republic fighters find that the Peace Brigade (Yuuzahn Vong Collaborators) have settled on the planet Ylesia. The Bothan commander, Kre'Fey, has declared his own personal war on the YV, and decides to take out the PB leadership to hamper the invasion. A task force of Jedi, star fighters and ground soldiers is assembled and move to Ylesia, were they land and begin to take over. However, on the ground, things go wrong and the Republic forces are forced to pull out as the Yuuzahn Vong enter the system. This story had lots of action in it, from the Starfighters, ground soldiers and lightsabers fights, it's an exciting read. Ylesia was first introduced in A.C. Crispin's Han Solo Trilogy and hasn't really been seen since. It's nice to revisit it and Williams did his homework, getting the history and details right. It was also nice to see Thrakan Sal-Solo, related to Jania, Han, Leia and Jacen. He's a throughly bad character, and it was good to see him put into his place by his Vong commanders. He was beaten around a bit and put onto Ylesia as a punishment, commanding the Peace Brigade. All in all, a good read, almost like Mark Bowden's Black Hawk Down, and like several other e-reads, fills in all the blanks in the stories.
