Summary: fabulously funny--a slapstick worth your while
Review: I've never been a fan of fantasy/science fiction. Rather I prefer literary works, and this book appealed to all my literary senses. It's a true Shakespearean comedy with a few references to Shakespeare and is lots of fun for anyone who likes a good writing style that flows easily. No prior knowledge of Discworld required.

Review: In the space of one year I have read most of the Discworld series, and this is definitely one of my favorites. Not only do I adore the character "Death", but the plot of this book is both interesting and funny.

Summary: Wonderful and witty!
Review: Terry Pratchett has outdone himself this time! Death is my favorite anthropomorfic personification and in this book Terry writes Him like he should be: Logical, Literal and A Laugh Riot! You read, captivated, as Mort grows in to the role of Death's assistant, and ultimately becomes him. A wonderful book and a must-read!

Summary: THE BOOK BEATS ITSELF TO DEATH! zero
Review: Strata & The Colour of Magic were beautifully funny and I highly recommend them. BUT everything after those first two in the discworld series is trash. Too stupid. Like monte python. Slap stick. Not funny at all.

IT'S LIKE THE BOOKS BEAT THEMSELVES TO DEATH! I am quitting the discworld series and going on to try some of his other works.

Summary: this is good - and the rest get even better
Review: The first Pratchett book I read. Have read all since that day many years ago and eagerly anticipate the new books. The book contains the quote of the decade - 'What's a curry?' - 'You ever eaten a red hot ice cube, that's a curry!'

Having read all that Terry has written I recommend to all to read them - especially 'Moving Pictures', the Witches books and The Guards books (Wyrd Sisters, Witches Abroad, Lords and ladis and Masquerade (Witches)) (Guards Guards, Men at Arms, Feet of Clay and Jingo (Guards)).

Also if you know England and have seen the Omen then read Good Omens - I shall say now more other than read and enjoy!

Review: This is the best book Pratchett has ever written. It isn't only funny, but intelligent too! It leaves you thinking about some matters even after you've read it. Whatever you think of Pratchett, this book is still worth a read!

Summary: Mort is an interesting and imaginative book.
Review: The only way the skeleton time keeper of death can get a break from his job is to train a new time keeper. That is where the lost and unintelligent character Mort comes in. His clueless attitude gets him the job of training to become the new time keeper of death, but his wondering mind puts him in an unfamiliar place. Instead of killing the intended victim he instead kills the assassin. This sets Mort on a trail to try and mend back together his mistake, before the future becomes turned around.

Review: I've never read such truth like in this book. It was translated into Hungarian by Dr (I DON'T KNOW WHO BUT GENIOUS) and...And... What should I say??? Good Master, I need this job! I wanna be Mort!!!

Review: this guy must have been on something harsh when he wrote this. I mean what kind of freak writes a book about a discworld which travels through space on the back of four giant elephants which travel on the back of a turtle? Apart from that it's great. 's adopted daughter falls in love with s apprentice, Mort, who trys to alter the future and in doing so nearly rips apart the whole Fabric of Causality. also goes into retirement, and Mort becomes , a terrible human , a mortal become Immortal.
