Summary: It's GRRREAT!
Review: Once you get a feel for who the characters are and where they come from you can start to understand this book and really enjoy it. This is a page turner that doesnt want to be put down. I have never played the game before, but I am a die hard Star Wars fan and I thought that this was an incredibly spiffy book! :)

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good Read, but I was expecting a little bit more.
Review: The book was excellent... once you get into it. It takes a while to get into. But once you do get into it does get very interesting.

Summary: Buy the Gmae first, THEN read the book!
Review: This book is 100% based on the LucasArts games Tie Fighter and X-Wing, fortunately I have the games, that's why I understood the book, but for someone who hasn't got a clue about the Movies or the game X-Wing Rouge Squadron won't make much sense

Summary: Die Hard Star Fighting, with a few other elements,
Review: X-wing is a wonderful idea, with very little flaws. I enjoyed it more than quite a few Star Wars novel

Summary: Not just for fans of the computer game
Review: Michael Stackpole's X-Wing books shows readers that Han, Luke, and Leia are not the only people capable of saving the New Republic from the remnants of the Empire. Each book in the series is fast-paced, but does not skip on character developement, the villians in the series are as well-developed as the heroes. There are plenty of daring escapes where the heroes must reason their way out as opposed to just blasting their way out. This series helps to flesh out the Star Wars universe, and gives the reader a glimpse of what it might be like to fly an X-Wing. Readers who are not familiar with the X-Wing computer games will enjoy this as a good read

Summary: If you like a good fight, read this book!
Review: After reading just about every Star Wars book I could get my hands on, finnally there's one based JUST on the fighting aspect. If you like action, this is a book I strongly recommend. With a good assortments of enemies, plots and plently of space/ground fighting, these 4 books will quickly get you hooked. It sure made me pick up my Xwing CD and blast some TIE Fighters on my PC!

Summary: Woah!
Review: This book is a must read. The whole series is very interesting. The opining chapter does a wonder for creating the theme of the book. All in all I liked Wedge Antillies. I'm one of his fans and in this book (and the others in the series) no Imperial pilot can get near him without becoming free-floating space junk. This book is one of the greatest. I'd recomend this book to one and all

Summary: The X-Wing series is a true winner
Review: Stackpole is the very first Star Wars-esque author who has portrayed successfully the role of the fighter pilot. He has captured the essence of courage and honor, selflessness, emotion and vigilance so well that the reader feels as one of the characters, particularly the pilots of Rogue Squadron. I feel this book finally does justice to the unsung heroes of the Rebellion and the New Republic. These are the deft, innovative, analytical, yet warm and emotional pilots who would give their lives to their comrades without a moment's hesitation, even though the life they save might be extinguished the very next day. There is a shining beacon of hope in that idea, and by the end of the book, the reader feels that the beacon has guided them, too

Summary: This is a great book to launch the X-wing series.
Review: This book is about the X-wing Rouge Squadron, the elite ploits of the Allience, being reformed to help clean up the remains of the Empire. This book is mostly told from one of the new pliots veiw point named Coran. After the squadron is formed the rest of the story is about trying to take over a secret Imperal base called Black Moon. After reading this book I rushed out to my local bookstore and looked for the next book in the X-wing series

Summary: Stackpole's X-Wing Novels Are True Star Wars
Review: Stackpole's series is terrific. Each novel has a quick pace and infinitely interesting plot. The reader becomes attached to the Rogue Squadron pilots like they would Luke, Han, or Leia. The book's primary focus is upon Wedge Antilles and Corran Horn. Horn is an interesting, well-developed character who is as intriguing and fun to read about as any other Star Wars character. I enjoyed the way Stackpole wrote original stories surrounding momentous events in the SW universe without disappointing the reader. The first book tells of the restoration of Rogue Squadron and the subsequent novels focus on the taking of Coruscant, seat of Imperial power. Only a really talented author should be trusted to handle such major events, and Stackpole proves to be that author. As I read these books, I listened to music from the original Star Wars movies. I'd choose peices appropriate to the part of the book I was reading at the time. If you can read and listen to music at the same time, then this is a good idea. It'll seem as if John Williams wrote the music specifically for these books. The music enhances the book tremendously. This sounds like a weird idea, a book soundtrack, but it's great. The only complaint I have is that there are a LOT of characters. It can be difficult to keep track of them all. Overall, though, it's a fantastic series.
