Rating: Summary: It's Great!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: Rogue Squadron is a great book it has everything a good Starwars book should have. I would recomend this book to any Starwars fan.
Rating: Summary: Torpedoes away!! The perfect book is in!! Review: For those of you who think every Star Wars book is the same, wait till' you read this!!! Stackpole has definitely done his homework!!! He's not only created a great book, but has also created inventions no one would have dreamed of like Lancer Frigates. And just when I thought I found a mistake, he comers right back and fixes it. A perfect creation of characters from the suave Corran to the beautiful Mirax and thier growing passion towards each other (Hint hint) is great. Introducing a series about Wedge was a brilliant idea, especially since he was one of the best characters in the movie. He even goes as far as creating a character related to the legendary Biggs, Gavin Darklighter. This book has action, adventure, fun, and plain old Star Wars style personality. All I can say is BRAVO Stackpole!!! And keep up the good work which I know you will!!!
Rating: Summary: AN EXCELLENT BOOK FOR FANS FROM EVERY GALAXY! Review: I really enjoyed reading Rogue Squadron. It was fresh, new, and different from other Star Wars books I have read. I recommend it to any Star Wars fan who enjoys adventure, excitement, and reading.
Rating: Summary: Great book for all Star Wars fans Review: This is a great book! I especially enjoyed the way you never knew who would live and who would die. There was even a part where I thought Corran Horn (The main character) would be killed. I recommend this entire series to all Star Wars fans.
Rating: Summary: INFRIGGINCREDIBLE! Review: This book is incredible. The way it builds the attitudes of the greatest pilots of the New Republic and their leader Wedge Antilles (one of the coolest guys in the Star Wars universe) and integrates it into the incredible story of the front against Ysanne Isard is great. Read this and all the other follow up novels.
Rating: Summary: Excellent. An honor to the Star Wars genre Review: I've read nearly all of the Star Wars novels, and besides the Heir to the Empire trilogy by Timothy Zahn, this is the best series yet. Stackpole writes with an intelligence and gift for plot that make his books exciting, and keep you coming back for more. His characters are good, if not a little stiff at times, but still an excellent adittion to the Star Wars universe, I hope Michael Stackpole keeps writing.
Rating: Summary: okay Review: this book was okay, even though i sort of got sick of corran horn. what i didn't like was all the talk about the ships. i don't know what yaw or roll or pitch is....i can't even remember if portside is left or right (same goes for starboard). whistler reminded me of artoo in a way. overall; it was an okay read.
Rating: Summary: Fun, but kind of unbelievable... Review: Okay, we all know that the entire "Star Wars" idea is utter fantasy, but it would be nice if Stackpole could suspend our disbelief better in his writing. His descriptions of a handful of X-Wing pilots shooting down hordes of TIE fighters seems totally unrealistic. Sure, the members of Rogue squadron are supposedly "elite," but what does that make the Imperial pilots, chop-liver? We're talking here about a force that once rampaged the galaxy and tore apart the original rebel assault on the first Death Star, defeated only by Luke Skywalker's freak luck in tapping into the "Force." It seems to me that military men and women, whatever side they're fighting on, can be honed to a certain fine, elite edge: an edge that should be attainable to both the Rebellion and the Empire. To have the good guy win repeatedly just makes me respect the Empire less and less and makes me hope that the good guys suffer a good butt-whipping just to whipe those self-satisfied smiles off their faces. To Stackpole: how about having the Empire actually appear threatening, for a change? That would make your books more exciting!
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: X-Wing:Rogue Squadron was a fabulous prelude to the series that would continue to follow afterwards. IT was a very technical book,I thought, and being so it reminded me of Jurassic Park and was written in a similar style to Michael Crichton's. However, i found one of the most entertaining parts of the book was the About the Author column in the back.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT! Review: OKAY, i agree with that guy from Los angeles. I saw this series a while back and i thought, "ew that looks lame." but recently i purchased the game X-Wing v.s. Tie fighter, (which is also EXCELLENT) and got interested in the concept of the book so i decieded to give it a shot. well, my review is EXCELLENT. i couldn't put it down. I am now currently reading the second of the series called "Wedges gamble." that is pretty good so far too.
