Summary: Paul's review
Review: I liked this book. It was good because it had lots of detail. It is the third book in the Masquerade Cycle. It is based on the card game Magic: The Gathering. You do not have to read the other books in the series to understand. All you have to know was some things about the game.

The book is about a war between Keld and Jamuarra. It features characters from the cards. It is a very detailed book and is very violent.

This book is by a different author than the other books in the series because the company uses different authors. You would like this book if you play the card game. You may not like this book if you do not like books that are long with small print.

Summary: How Can You Not Love Prophecy?!
Review: I think the other people who reviewed Prophecy looked at it the wrong way. I gave this book a five because it has all of the Legendary Spellshapers from the Prophecy card set ( Alexi, Latulla, Greel, Jolrael, and Mageta ), this is good because many Magic the Gathering storylines don't even mention the name of some Legends like Invasion for example. Keep in mind that this is Vance Moore's very first novel ( although he is a contribuer to some of the Magic Anthologies ). Barrin's wife, Rayne, dies a horrible death under Greel's wrath. I think Prophecy is better to the younger Magic the Gathering fans because it is not confusing ( unlike Invasion ), not too gory ( unlike Nemesis ), and not too long ( unlike The Brother's War ). The fact Prophecy has nothing to do with the Masquerade Cycle is actually an advantage because you don't need to read Mercadian Masques or Nemesis. I reccomend Prophecy to all.

Summary: Weak book
Review: I'm sorry but I do not think this book was any good, specially compared to the other books of the series. I mean it's too bad that it's this author's first book, but it was just not good.

Summary: Great!
Review: I've been waiting for this book to come out, and now that it is, I think it's awesome. Teferi is awesome. I would recommend this book to anyone, even if they don't understand Magic.

Summary: Incredibly Bad
Review: In my opinion which everyone may not agree with, this is the worst book of all the magic the gathering books. It does not fit it very well if at all with the other two books of the cycle which by the way are very good books. Its protagonist leaves much to be desired and well the book was just a drag to read. Maybe if it was a stand alone, outside the Urza/Phyrexia like the anothologies MAYBE it would have been a good book, but it really really wasn't how it was placed in the series.

Summary: Good on its own, but dissapoints when compared to the series
Review: Ive read this series since the brothers war and i must say this is the ONE book that stands out as a dissapointment. I dont want to give anything away, but Prophecy really takes a turn away from the main story. At some times its refreshing but at others the plot seems pointless to the over all Phyrexian plot to take over! By itself, Prophecy its a great book, but overall it does little to advance the main plot, which led many of us to buy this book!

Summary: pretty good!
Review: My son read this book and felt it was very good but not as good as Nemesis. It is a good buy!

Summary: Dissenting Opinion
Review: Posted reviews seem to rate the Magic books based on their faithfulness to "official" storylines or whatever's supposed to be written on the back of the cards. In other words, detail over the body of the tale. Let me remind you: Magic is a fantasy world, a world is a living thing, not subject to unbending rules culled from tournaments nor trades; and as fantasy, is meant to give life to drama, not just the cast. As one who has served in the military, I salute Mr. Moore's achievement of depicting real, desperate human emotions despite the temptations of a patently fantastic setting. An immersing read that stands on its own merits.

Summary: How can I not hate Prophecy?
Review: Prophecy is one of the lamest books I've ever read.
Legends from the card series make cameos just to attract
the reader to the Magic World, not because there is any
real good reason to have them around. This is such a waste
of paper I cannot imagine who would want to do this to readers.

Summary: Great story on its own, but...
Review: Prophecy was a great book on its own, but it fit in the Masquerade Cycle awkwardly, at best. It contains some vital plot advancement for the series (The Artifacts Cycle, Rath and Storm, and the Masquerade Cycle), but it seems to be tangled up in a relatively unrelated story. I'm hoping it all gets tied together in the upcoming Invasion Cycle, and this book doesn't prove to be relatively random...
