Rating: Summary: Read, re-read, and RE-re-read. Review: GREAT book! Entertaining story line. (even though i've always been a sucker for bad guys trying to mind it's own business being kicked in the butt by Good Guys...)
Rating: Summary: No traction, not compelling Review: I bought this book on the basis of the many glowing reviews here and I must say I am disappointed. The authors style is much too verbose for my taste - judicious editing could reduce 50-100 pages and accelerate plot development. I actually had problems believing Nightfalls character. On the one hand he has the reputation of being an invincible demon god, yet his actions, doubts and frailties are incongruent with this. This is a classic case of show vs tell. We are told that Nightfall is an incredibly confident thief/assasin. But what we are shown is someone full of doubt and uncertainty, which makes it difficult to reconcile how he developed the godlike reputation in the first place. For about the first 200 pages much of the drive revolves around how he might escape his oath bond. I found the other story points tedious - nothing fresh or interesting. Eventually, I gave up. The slow movement of the plot in what I thought would be an exciting adventure romp proved too much to bear.
Rating: Summary: This is some of the best fantasy I have read. Review: I have been reading works of fantasy for a long time now, and this book ranks among the best. It is simply amazing. The character of Nightfall is intricate and believable. The situation into which this character is placed is fascinating, and it brings out all of the elements of his character. In short, the whole book's plot elements and character development is unmatched. More importantly, though, there is something undefinable about this book that is absolutely entrancing. Something about the way the whole book is written just pulls you in and involves you in a thousand ways at once. When I was done with this book, my skin was literally flushed. I just sat there and stared at the back cover for a few moments. This book is that amazinng. If you are reading this review, like fantasy, and do not buy this book, you are making a serious mistake. This book is that good.
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Review: I picked up The Legend of Nightfall a few days ago from Barnes & Noble because it looked like it had a neat plot. I had never heard of teh book or the author before, but within the first few chapters i was hooked. i read it until my eyes were blurry, then picked it up first thing in the morning and finished it. i loved it! It was a very creative take on the cliche characters that Nightfall and Edward fell into. I would like to disagree with the person who gave it two stars. okay, i know not everyone will love the book, and yes, some of it was wordy but hey, that's life. Nightfall does indeed prove himself to be a competent, confident theif. We are also told, however, that Nightfall is not the natural-born killer that everyone thinks he is. It talks a lot about the character of Dyfrin, Nightfalls' father figure and advisor. Several times it mentions that Dyfrin could see through Mightfall to realize that he wasn't the demon-criminal, but merely he struggled very hard to fit that role that everyone assigned to him. Personally, I was not dissapointed in the character and skills of Nightfall. Overall, I thought this book was excellent.
Rating: Summary: A poorly written book Review: I will admit that I am intolerant- intolerant of bad books. This novel had the potential (based upon its plot, which I am sure that its fans will explain) to be a decent book. However, the author choked. Nightfall leaves much to be desired. The characters waver between being wooden and flat and being overblown and completely unbelievable. The diologue comes across as implausible and stilted while the author's style seems uncoordinated. Overall, the book is awkward and unsatisfying to read.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I have read. Review: Interesting characters and an entertaining story line.Great details in the final battel scenes really help you to visualize the time frame. Good details without becoming dull.
Rating: Summary: To the reader from San Diego Review: Mickey is a WOMAN. Just FYI
Rating: Summary: What an incredible book! Review: Of all the books I've read, this is the best as far as morals and characters. In an age where all the literature we are made to read in school is blunt and disturbing, this shows that complete forgivness and unconditional love do exist. The Best fantasy novel I've ever read, and I've read a few, beleive me! Mickey Zucker Reichert is a brilliant authoress!

Rating: Summary: Fantastic and compelling. Review: Over the years I have read thousands of books and nothing grabs me like a story about a super-competant character caught in extraordinary events or that of a young man growing into a hero. This book has both. I have recommended this book to many people and they have all loved it. It has a good mix of character developement and story developement. I wish there was a sequel! It is almost as good as the Vladimir Taltos novels by Steven Brust
