Review: I picked up the trilogy of timeliner books recently and have read the first two straight through. The mercenary Eric who acts as the main focal point of the books moves through different parallel universes created by probability of events happening in different fashions so there is a reality where the American and French revolutions failed which is where we start and where Alexander created a longlived empire and the Roman empire failed to get off the ground. There are so many types in which Eric travels which get increasingly less familiar. The overall impact is dazzling and the twists and turns leave the reader's head spinning
