Summary: Are You Ready???
Review: Most of us realize the threats to our environment, food, and privacy. This book tackles all of these issues.

This book explores the horrifying but very real possibility of an Orwellian-like future brought about by the advent of the microchip. It's 2050 and everybody is implanted with a microchip at birth. They all work, but don't get rich. They don't travel, instead they take trips through virtual reality. They don't eat real food because it's all been contaminated. Now people 'eat' by taking food pills. If anybody does anything wrong, those in control, through the computer, deactivate their microchip, preventing the person from buying, selling or operating in the high-tech society. So he dies. By some stroke of luck, or master plan as some would say, the main character, Alexis doesn't die when her microchip is deactivated. She is 'led' to an underground source who helps her survive. Without giving away the whole story, Alexis finds herself on an island among people who had defected from America long ago when microchip implants became mandatory. They are living in secrecy, living naturally, eating and growing real food, and living off the land. But, and I won't tell you why, Alexis' microchip is reactivated, and she and the other islanders are discovered. History is changed forever. To find out what happens, buy the book! A good read, even if it leaves you wanting to know more about the characters. What's scary is anyone who searches for microchip implants online will see that our world may be dealing with these types of issues someday soon. Be aware, educate yourself and be vigilant and ready to protect your rights. 'The times they are a-changing!'
