Summary: One of--if not--my most favorite in the series!
Review: I loved this book. It was exceptional. I thought it was funny and exciting, and had everything an Animorph book should. Tobias is one of my favorite characters, and Rachel IS my favorite. Both of these characters were in it a lot, and that was another plus. I loved the chapters when they told their families what they are and what they could do. Rachel's mom reacted so stupidly it was funny. My eyes were glued to the pages without exception for the two and half hours it took me to read it. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone. A must-have addition to the Animorphs series!

Summary: Excellent book - Only a few flaws
Review: I think this book is one of the best Tobias books, but it seems so abrupt when he meets his mother. It's almost like Tobias says, "Hi, I'm your son." Then it's as if his mother says, "Oh. Okay then. I knew that." I don't really like that part. Otherwise, it's pretty good. There are good Rachel and Tobias parts, an appropriate amount of action, and a great deal of emotion.

Summary: Hmmm...
Review: Reading everyone else's reviews here, I was expecting big things from this book. Sadly, I don't think I can agree with most of what's said.

First of all, this book really should have been a Megamorphs (replacing Back to Before). {{SPOILERS)) It felt just a bit weird that Tobias, the boy effectively sans famille, should document the Animorphs' revelation to their own families and relocation to the Hork-Bajir valley. To really deal with such an important moment in the series, we should have been able to see how each character deals, emotionally and physically, with the situation, from the 'inside' as it were. Tobias can't even physically express his feelings anymore, so can he really convey the private emotions of others?

Megamorphs status would also have lengthened this installment, which is desperately needed. Its lack of length results in the sense that it's very 'noisy': there are two extensive action/chase sequences that dominate the novel, diminishing the effect of Tobias' poignant reunion with his mother, Loren. Thus, what should have had me bawling my eyes out just made me feel sad, because all the running and fighting ended up taking over. More chapters would have allowed the emotional intensity to mature.

However, there were some good Rachel-and-Tobias moments, and one of my favourite recent lines: "As long as I've got fast food, I'll be OK." (I think, I loaned my copy to a friend). The premise was good, although a little melodramatic - ("Oh, look, here's my long lost mum, but, oops! she's got amnesia, she's horribly scarred and blind. But that's OK, because I'm a freak too, and she seems to be an all-around nice person.") The Jake stuff is excellent, too: I'll be following that thread *very* closely indeed...

One major beef: it's as though #48 never happened. We don't find out what Rachel did at the end with David, and there's no change in her behaviour or her relationship with Tobias. (Why, hello Continuity! Oh my God, you look like you've spent the last two months sleeping in a Dumpster! What, you have?!? Poor thing, come in and have a shower') (TM Sars, MBTV.)

Summary: One of the best ones yet
Review: This Animorphs book has the most change of all. The yeerks hve finnaly decided that the "Andalite" Bandits aren't exactly Andalites, and that changes everything. The sharing is sponsering a huge blood drive, and robers at the gardens don't ask for drugs or money, they want blood samples. Tiger, grizzly, wolf, eagle and go crazy when the can't get a blood sample from a Red-tailed Hawk. Their secret is revealed to ? and while trying to spoil the yeerks plan, Tobias makes a discovery that could change his life forever. That is, if he survives much longer...

Summary: The Best One Yet!
Review: This was my favorite book yet. It's really cool when they tell their parents about the Yeerks and Animorphs and must leave for the free Hork-Bajir's valley.I found that this one was better than book 37 The Resitance.I thought it was really neat how Tobias's blind mother,Loren is given the morhing ability to escape the Yeerks with Tobias.I liked how she saved him from the dracon beam. When she morphs back she isn't blind.I can't wait till book 50 comes out.I'm sad though that the books end on 56.
