Rating: 4 stars
Summary: a great read
Review: I found The Nanotech Chronicles to be a great read. The short stories are fresh and original, but basic human tendencies and failings are recognizable despite, or even through the new technologies.

This is one of those books that are often lent out and not returned. That's why I'm buying it again.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Fun, but lacking
Review: The book hits on several interesting ideas - body modification, technology in the hands of bored youth, and unitended consequences. Like many sci-fi pulp fiction it dealt too much with the technology while not spending time on the social ramifications and the human condition. Conflicts tended to be "Oh, NO! I can't get the machines to work!" instead of "Oh, No! I've doubled the average lifespan for humans with a shot." The vignettes are fun to read, something good for summer, but don't expect anything more.
