Rating: Summary: philosopher? Review: I hold a doctorate in philosophy and must warn people from buying this book. It is written by the ignorant for the ignorant. Bruce Lee was not a philosopher. For real Chinese philosophy, read "The Spell of the Sensuous" for a more balanced and ecologically aware text. Otherwise you will be brought down by the underlying violence which prevades this repugnant text. I am very sorry that I bought it.
Rating: Summary: Philosophy for Life Review: John Little has done it again. Distilling Bruce Lee's thoughts in this manner has resulted in a great reference on his philosophy. Examples include thoughts on "defeat," which is a path toward success and truth, according to Bruce. This can be applied to a martial artist competing in a tournament, a business person fired from his or her job -- virtually any endeavor. The book is full of similar thoughts, which, if studied and considered carefully, can help anyone find a more fulfilling and peaceful path through life.
Rating: Summary: Bruce Lee's Greatest Work! Review: This book could easily have been retitlted "Bruce Lee Speaks To Everyone" for there is something of great worth for anyone who takes the time to pick up this book. My sister, who doesn't care a whit for fighting, picked up this book and has now purchased her own copy to carry with her to school. Bruce Lee's philosophy, which is more like deep yet practical insights into life is magnificent. Topics covered range from relationships, racism, love, parenting, dealing with adversity, money, business and motivation, to the more profound topics such as life, death and spirituality. This is by far the greatest Bruce Lee book I've ever read and something I will refer to again and again.

Rating: Summary: Not Bruce Lee Review: This book is wonderful. I found it to be usefull in a lot of situations, and opens up new windows to other topics of life. His views on life make you think about new things and are really deeper thoughts than I ever knew about. Great book. Pick it up.

Rating: Summary: Fantastic Book! Review: This is a great book to introduce people to the mind of Bruce Lee. It has his thoughts on almost any subject, and is a great reference for Bruce Lee fans.
Rating: Summary: To all, even with no previous knowledge of Bruce Lee! Review: To all, even with no previous knowledge of Bruce Lee this is a book which those of a philosophical nature, liking to question many things in life an look for inspiration about many aspects of life must read! it is a deeply inpsirational book spanning many thoughts on many aspects of life an human beings. many just know him as a movie 'star,' but not many know the other side of his life, his philosophy! it is a deep insight into his thoughts and feelings which many dont take into account when discussing him but in all totality he was a great man with a great mind who shouldnt just be ignored! but those who have the chance to read his philosophy should and be inspired!!
Rating: Summary: Worth a good read Review: When Bruce Lee wrote the contents of this book, I don't think his concerns lay in the creation of a text which conforms to the institutionalised and narrow teachings of Universities which create narrow minded 'philosophers' - I believe his philosophy was exactly that - his - and it was his way of looking at the world and coping with it, which I might add couldn't have been far wrong looking at his achievements. If you are open minded and interested in the thinking and workings of the mind which created a true icon and hero... I suggest reading this book. It does not concern the futile questions often found in philosophy I am sure, but it concerns things that those of us who aren't philosophers can relate to - life, day to day problems. Worth a good read it if you have any interest in Bruce Lee and even if you don't.
Rating: Summary: Never Be Too Much Help Review: Whether or not you study JKD or anything similar, it doesn't matter...you will keep on continuing to learn from one of the most influential people of our lifetime. This book doesn't have "the answer" per say. But neither did Bruce, as he said...he is only a guide...it is up to us to find our own truth, our own "way". So to the people that get this book. Just read it, and move on...keep moving.
