Summary: This book wasn't helpful at all.
Review: I bought this book to prepare for my first show season. I flipped through it and was immediately impressed at the seemingly varied amount of information included. Once I sat down with it and read it cover to cover, I had learned very little beyond what I already knew.
This would be a good book for someone who hasn't started riding yet, but then again, why even think about showing before you've even started lessons? Hunter Seat Equitation, by George Morris would be a much better investment that would get you closer to winning in a show ring faster than this book ever would.

Summary: Excellent Resources for Parents, Kids and Adults Returning
Review: This book was excellent. The author made it very easy to read. The text flowed smoothly and I think I read the whole book in about 5 hours. She explained a lot of things about showing that people get intimidated to ask their trainers. She had sections on what to pack in your trunk, what the different show classes were, what to look for at a show as a spectator, and then what classes to enter, etc. I was very pleased with the book and will recommend it to everyone at the barn.
