Summary: I have been to the river!
Review: Sally Stoner's sharings brought me right into the river, and into camp, and to the mountains and fields and streams. I truely enjoyed the relaxed and intimate manner in which she involves the reader. I feel as though I know these people, and have spent many hours and years with them. A must read!

Summary: Shared Treasures
Review: This book is first of all unusual in that there are no others of it's kind (that I know of) in the fly fishing world. Second; the topic of women and fly fishing is a rarity, and thirdly; the unique combination of the poem on the opposing page from the drawing/journal entry followed by the story of that specific fishing trip make this book very special; evoking emotions as the reader reminisces about her own similar experiences. One can really get 'involved' in the book. I think every flyfisher, male or female, can relate to the experiences in the stories. They take you to the wild and peaceful places you have been and love and remind you of similar journeys you have taken with friends. I found myself saying as I read...'I've been there and know that place', or 'I know what she means'. Fly fishing takes you to some beautiful places and experiencing those places with friends makes those times most memorable. Reading this book recalls the emotions, sites, and sounds in a most pleasant way.

Summary: Shared Treasures
Review: This is a delightful book of a gentlewoman's musings of days spent in the shear joy of fly-fishing with friends making memories in some of the finest trout streams in the west. Shared Treasures is written from a feminine prospective and it will evoke fond memories of your own fishing experiences. The author's passion for the sport of tempting a wily trout in a stream's feeding seam or hidden under an undercut bank with a beautifully hand-tied imitation of a tasty stonefly, caddis or mayfly nymph is gently told. The sketches taken out of a companion's journal give the reader an intimate view into these women's private play and camaraderie shared along classic rivers and creeks. The stories are more than just describing the anticipation, bliss and excitement of casting the fly, mending a line or setting the hook. These stories are about the author and her companions sharing in adventure. A fun read.
