Summary: Great Grappling Gift
Review: Even though I don't agree with the shenanigans that go on in wrestling every week, my 11-year old son absolutely adores these guys! When he passed his mid-terms, I promised to buy him a book so he could read more about his favorite stars and out of all the books on the market he chose Rulers of the Ring!

He loves the book because not only has he learned more about his favorite wrestlers, he also thinks the pictures are cool. I was also extremely pleased with his purchase as the book not only stays clear from the T&A, it is also modestly priced. That's important when you have three other mouths to feed. :) I highly recommend this book to all parents out there who's children watch wrestling and they want to know more about their Rulers of the Ring.

Summary: it's just OK
Review: If you're looking for scoops and a detailed commentary of what goes on behind the scenes of pro wrestling - which the top of the front cover of this book promises - this book will probably prove to be somewhat of a dissapointment. It apprears most of the information presented here has been obtained from previously published material, and the career highlight matches of the wrestlers in question are most likely already known to potential buyers. I have seen worse than this, but Mick Foley's book offers a great deal more in terms of sheer size and depth. If you haven't read much about the histories of Goldberg, Sting, and Chyna, this material will be of some interest. The color photos are of variable quality. There are some proofreading errors too, among them the reference to Kane on page 169: "This defiant, seven-foot wrestler has proven that he is afraid of anyone...".

For the modest price asked, this book can be recommended with reservations only for the most serious wrestling fan; the casual enthusiast could probably skip it.

Summary: Rulers targets marks
Review: Warning! Hardcore fans stay far away from this book. The author, Robert Picarello, is an editor for an "Apter"-style mark magazine. This book never strays from kayfabe to delve into the real world of professional wrestling. There are better and more accurate books out there. Most of the information here can be found easily on the net.
