Summary: I have seen heard the voice of god and its name is waldo
Review: For a shoeless, candy eating, office leeching guy, Bob Waldstein is an am amazing author. I was absolutely amazed by how well these two authors both wrote an excellent depiction of their journeys across the country and made fun of themselves at the same time. I do not beleive anyone could have "hit the nail on the head" any better than these two have. I would like to meet these two great men at some point in my life. These men truly are college football gods. I can't wait to read the sequel. I would love to have a college basketball madness book in my library.

Summary: Out of the blue
Review: From out of the blue, these two unknowns have written what is quite possibly the best sports book ever. The perfect combination of humor and in-depth reporting.

Summary: Hysterical!
Review: I am fortunate enough to call both Bob & Phil my friends, and I was there at the Chinese restaurant the night they left.........and the night of their triumphant return home! The book is awesome. I'm not a big college sports fan, but I was entertained thouroughly by their "amazing stories" of food, beverages and collegiate hijinks across America. Every parent should read this to know just how their hard earned money is being spent at schools and universities nationwide! It is a must-read for college football fans, and even those, like me, who were only interested in the "fun"!

Summary: Is this what Manitou does to people?
Review: I was bored and read through these reviews. I am a huge fan of the book and of the Bob Waldstein story. Wally, when does the sequel come out. What would the title be (Saturday Afternoon's at Wickman Stadium?) Keep up the good work. Slap Ma Fro!

Summary: Funniest sports road trip book EVER
Review: The definitive book for the FUN-loving college football fan, this book details in a hysterical manner the great and wierdest and most FUN traditions in college football, at the best football schools in the country including my Alma Mater the U. of Alabama, where I got my autographed copy. The book details the best places to eat-(the most important thing of all) places like Dreamland Barbecue and the Pinecrest Lodge, the great players and coaches and games, and the bands, rituals, rivalries, crazy incidents, and fans that makes college football the TRUE American pastime and the greatest game in the Land. Bob and Phil are American originals and write some of the funniest stuff you'll ever read. If you love the game-you'll love this book.

Summary: I couldn't believe how funny it truly was!
Review: This epic novel of college football really brings home all the feel of the best sporting spectical in america today. I ran into these two fools a few years ago in Iowa City while I was loaded at the annual "Corn Bowl", Iowa vs Iowa St. They told me they were working on the sequel while working on a cool buz. It's been three years guys, haven't you sobered up enough to publish the next book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Funny, Carefree and Gay. A must read for the Fall season.
Review: What a crazy scheme, and a Gread Read. Saturday Afternoon Madness brought me back to that time in my life when Big Ten football was my only reason for getting out of bed. The chapters on the other (non big ten) venues were right on as well. The antics, food and personalities made this a great read, and a re-read. A perfect book to keep handy in your favorite room in the house.

Summary: I don't like football, but I liked this book
Review: While I am no fan of football, having attended a college that didn't even have a team, I was nonetheless interested in the story these two guys had to tell.

Maybe it was that they were living the new American dream: tune out, drop out, watch sports.

I actually learned a lot about America by reading this book.

Or maybe it was the chicken wings.
