Review: Author Tim Smith, M.Ed., is an expert who practices what he preaches. Currently a physical education teacher, who also coaches volleyball and lacrosse in the East Syracuse-Minoa School District, Tim has previously worked as an exercise physiologist in private practice and as a lecturer in Adelphi University's Department of Human Performance Sciences. He has been a member of the National Strength Coaches Association and the American College of Sports Medicine where he served on their National Preventative/Rehabilitative Certification Committee and Fitness Instructor Subcommittee.
In "Sensible Strength Training," Smith offers excellent instruction for young student athletes through easy to read text and over 100 photos, illustrations, tables and schematics. He understands the special needs of young people with respect to strength training and helps youngsters maximize their potential while minimizing their risk of injury.
"Sensible Strength Training" is Tim's fifth book. He has authored over four dozen articles in a number of professional journals as well. The goal of this text is to present general strength training concepts and techniques to developing young people in such a way that they can apply and use them immediately.
