Rating: Summary: Not just for kids Review: Although I first read this bood when I was twelve or so, it stayed in my mind for years. When I recently found (purely by chance) a copy and re-read it, I enjoyed Loose Chippings as much at forty-four as I did at twelve. The story is one of a widowed disillusioned college professor who takes it into his head to zip over to England for a fast vacation. He rents a car, drives into the country, misreads a road sign, and ends up in a small, oddly untouched village. The people a re friendly, the place beautiful, and all seems wonderful, except for that sinister, half heard conversation... This book is just a plain good read, whatever your age!
