Summary: Second Glance in Drug Addiction
Review: If you or anyone you know has or ever thought about doing drugs, here is something to think about. Go Ask Alice is based on a true story about sex, addiction, and mayhem. It shows how an average, everyday girl such as Alice could get sucked into the relms of drug addiction, even unknowingly and unwillingly. Its prooves, that you might not know the girl next door, as well as you think you do.

Summary: I can't keep it in the classroom!
Review: This is the book that can jumpstart any reading program for high school students. I have had the hardest time keeping this title in the classroom. I even have a waiting list for students who wish to check this out. It is real for them and makes them think.

Summary: eye-opener to drug and non-drug users alike
Review: "Go Ask Alice" left me in a pool full of tears. Not tears of sadness so much as they were of anger and confusion. I had a hard time understanding how such a young girl comming from a middle class home could end up the way she did. The journey through her short life is filled with one bad thing after another. A drug dealing boyfreind who uses her, plans for a new life that fall apart.I had never heard of a life being so awful. The characters in the book are so real and in your face. The most shocking thing about this novel is that it is real. It hits you a hundred times more than a fictional novel would because you know that this actually happened and it shows that the outcome of our main character, could be the outcome of anyone. I recommend this novel to everyone who has or wants to or has never tried drugs...it will reassure you in your decision for certain.

Summary: This Book Opened My Eyes
Review: I have personally never done drugs before in my life. I don't have strong feelings against them unless i see them hurting someone's life, which they often do, otherwise i just had no opinion. I still don't feel strongly otherwise but I have learned what my peers see and feel when they do drugs. I have learned more compassion and understanding towards people with adictions. Wether you love drugs or hate them read this book. I promise you will leanr something from it.

Summary: I never read such a more truthfull book!
Review: I believe that this book will tear u up into tears. You go through Alice's troubles and fears and u feel like u are really her. I mean i felt like her problems were mine because the book gets u into the story that u dont know the difference what is life and what is not life. Although they are both life. Alice is just a regular old girl who just wants to fit in and will do anything to fit in. When she finally is starting to fit in her life takes some serious twists and turns. I highly recommend this book, it will teach anyone to not even try drugs!

Summary: Everyone should read this book at least once
Review: I found this book in my library when I was in the eight grade. I read it all in one sitting and then read it again. I was shocked & saddened, but given hope. Go Ask Alice was exactly what I needed to read when I was down in the dumps. Whenever I thought my life was hell, I could look back to this girl's life and tell myself that at least it wasn't that bad. At least I had something left. Now that I'm a Christian, I have faith that God will always pull me through, but in Junior High and High school, I read this book so many times, just to help me get by. Even though this girl's life was so bad, her death resulted in helping so many teenagers everywhere. She is a testimony to me, and I hope someday, my life can be as helpful to someone else who needs to hear it.

Summary: Brilliant, powerful, and timeless
Review: Perhaps the greatest piece of literature you could use to steer young people away from drug use. The changes "Alice" goes through are gripping, and the reader gets the full impact of her confusion. I would be curious to know exactly how much editing went into the work however. At times it seems a little too polished to be the work of a 15 year old. Despite that, it is one of the great works of young adult literature of our time.

Summary: Find out what drugs are for before it's too late!
Review: Go Ask Alice is a powerful and compelling story that gives you an inside view on one teenager's struggle with drugs. Alice starts out as the average 15 year old in the present time. She has some minor problems, as we all do, but overall her life isn't too bad. One night she starts using drugs. She thinks she will only do it once, yet she ends up getting addicted. She becomes an active drug user and seller. She makes the wrong kinds of friends. There are times that she tries to stop, but it never works. This is a very realistic book. It is the diary of a real teenage girl, meaning there must be other Alice's out there. The story is very exciting, particularly when she runs away from her past and starts a new life in California. This book is very sad. Alice passes up friendships with lovely people to drugs. She takes an overdose one day and ends up in an asylum. The passages about life there were quite depressing. The end is the ultimate horror and devestation possible. This is a must-read; buy it today!
