Summary: My thoughts about Princess Diaries
Review: The book, Princess Diaries was a very good book. I liked it because it kept me reading and was suspensful. I also liked it because it was in diary entry form, I think that helped me understand what she was doing and thinking because it was from a kid's point of view.

Summary: I really like this book
Review: I started to read this book not really expecting much because it was the second book and normally the second isn't as good as the first, but I think I may like it better than the first book and, I loved the first book. I really think that most people would find this book really to be very funny and really enjoyable.

Summary: Good, but not enough substance
Review: Princess in the Spotlight is a great read, don't get me wrong, but I don't feel that it really took us anywhere that we couldn't have gone in our own imagination after reading the first book. Yes, it is funny, yes, it is entertaining, and yes, I did laugh out loud, but I don't think there were any "surprises" in it. Now, I'm not saying I don't recommend it, because if you read the first, you've got to read the second, I think I just expected more from it than I got. It was extremely short (to me) and just didn't have enough substance, perhaps because it only covered 12 days of Mia's life. Hopefully the third book will satisfy my craving to know more about what happens in the long run. I can't believe I have to wait an entire year! In case you might be wondering from my review of The Princess Diaries, I have decided that the PD books are going to have a place on my Harry Potter shelf (it's the one for keepers)! FYI, if you love the books, I DO NOT recommend the movie. I am terribly disappointed in both Disney and Meg Cabot for what they did to these books.

  Summary: And the tortue continues....
Review: It was obvious from the first book that Mia Thermopolis wasn't exactly thrilled at the idea that she's the Princess of Genovia. All she wanted to be was a normal teenage girl (well..as normal as can be anyway)...not a heiress to a small European principality who has to have a body guard follow her around and take princess lessons after school with her Grandmere. It didn't exactly help matters that her mother was dating her Algebra teacher either. In the second book of this series, Mia is exposed to the responsibilites of being a princess as well as to some interesting surprises. If you enjoyed the first book, The Princess Diaries, then you'll love this second book: filled with tears, laughs, and crushes (the usual teenage traumas).

Summary: The Sequel to a Really Cool Book
Review: In the Princess Diaries 2, Mia is still the insecure teen that she was in the first book. She is a princess dealiing with the shock of it all, saying dumb answers to questions on a national TV show, her mother and her Algebra teacher (the subject which she is flunking) having a baby and getting married, a huge crush on her best friend's brother, and a secret admirer who won't reveal himself. As the book unwinds, Meg Cabot makes it seem like Mia's secret admirer is Lilly's brother, Michael. But the real admirer is repeatedly mentioned in the homework section. When Mia finds out who it is, she agrees to go on a date with him, but is never going to give up hope on Michael Moscovitz.

Summary: Meg Cabot does it AGAIN!
Review: Well, having enjoyed reading the PD first book, I hurried out to get the second. I finished it in a day. It was THAT good!! I can't wait to see the movie that comes out in August starring Julie Andrews as the Grandmere. Mia is a typical 15 year old and is very self conscious. Don't we all think that? Her mind continually wonders and thinks the WHAT IF?? If you liked the first book, get this one!!

  Summary: WOW!!!
Review: I've been waiting so long to get this book, and what I read did not disappoint. Mia is such a lovable and realistic heroine. The book started at a fast pace and kept going until the last page, leaving plenty of room for a sequel. We finally get to see Mia's father show some backbone to Grandmere. Mia's unrequited love for Michael Mascowitz remains unresolved though at the end of the book. This book was brilliantly written, in the refreshingly real style of its prequel. I think that Princess in the Spotlight has truly liven up to Cabot's first book. I only regret that it wasn't longer, and that I couldn't have read more about Mia's escapades. Read this!!
