Rating: Summary: One of the best books ever! Review: This was one of the best books I have ever read. It just kept on going and it never seemed to end. It's impossible find it boring, because every part is exciting. Other Ann Rinaldi books I found boring, like Finishing Becca. But you must read this one. You won't regret a minute!
Rating: Summary: Amazing! Review: While many people know the names of Hatfield and McCoy, I think most have forgotten, if they ever knew, the details of the infamous Appalachian feud. Told from the point of view of the youngest daughter of one of the families, The Coffin Quilt covers the Civil War origins of the feud and explores the hate, pain and futility the two families forced upon each other. The use of small amounts of regional dialect enhance the reader's sense of time and place. The Coffin Quilt provides not only an excellent look at turn of the century Appalachia, but a moving story about how hate and death can engulf whole families.
