Rating: Summary: AMAZING Review: This is one of the best books I've read. I recived it for a Christmas gift and am so glad I did. I would never have picked it out myself. Holes was basically about an overweight boy who is sent to Camp Green Lake. There is no lake at camp green lake. it is where boys gone wrong with the law go. The lake is long gone, it dried up many years ago. The reason Stanley is there is not his fault. It is his pig-stealing great great grandfathers. He has one friend at camp greenlake. And the owner is an evil lady. This is not a girl scout camp. The counselor Mr. Sir makes that quite clear. This book had many twists and turns that made it so amazing. I read the book in about 1 day. Highly suggest it to anyone. I am in the 8th grade and found it SOOO good!
Rating: Summary: Better than Harry Potter 1 and 2 Review: This book is the best! I definetly reccomend to 3rd grade and up. It is about a boy who was charged guilty of a crime and has a choice between jail and Camp Green lake. He chose the camp but he chose wrong. They have to dig HUGE holes in the hot sun and only get a little water. It is a very descriptive and well written book. I read it a day because it is very hanging. This book I like I said is in my oppionon better than Harry Potter 1 and 2. If you liked Harry Potter you will love this! Read it! The bad part about the book is that I think this book has some sad parts but a book that can change your emotion must be well written. I love this book!

I recommend this book for anyone 9 and up. Well gotta go read!
Rating: Summary: A fun read Review: This book is what my mom called a "sick book"--that is, a book that can be read easily in one day, that does not have a plot that is so complex it can't be understood when one is home sick in bed. Indeed, I read it recently while having a bout of the flu. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and it kept my thoughts away from my misery. I won't describe the plot in detail here, other than to say that it was fascinating, the characters were interesting, and the puzzle kept me intrigued. Yes, it's a bit surreal, but that is part of its charm. It definitely has a moral, also. I wouldn't get this book for a very young child; I wouldn't want them to take it too seriously, but certainly for an 8+ year old, try it!
Rating: Summary: The great story about holes Review: This story is about a camp called "The Green Lake Camp". The Green Lake Camp is a Camp where juvenile Delinquent are sent. "Green Lake Camp use to be a great lake in Texas" but they drained it out and make it a Juvenile detention. Green lake camp became a dry, flat sunburned wasteland. A boy named Stanley Yelnats is framed of stealing a important pair of shoes. He was sent to Green Lake camp. When he was sent he expected to see a lake but all he saw was a hot and dry land. Stanley's family always had bad luck so they could not get him out. The Green Lake Camp made the kids there dig holes five feet deep by five feet wide, they even had to dig on weekends. They had to dig their hole all day under the sun. What Stanley and the rest of the boys don't know is that the warden isn't just building character, she's looking for the lost buried treasure of outlaw. I like this story because it is full of great characters with strong voices, exciting, funny scenes and enough twists and turns.
