Rating: Summary: Everything In Life Should Be This Useful! Review: $16.95 for the book, $30 to the test site, $50 to CLEP, 64 for a Final Score. It would have been higher had I not been studying for 3 other classes. You can also use the staffing(Human Resource Management) and controlling(Production/Operation Management) to review for other test. Very valuable!More than anything, this book saved me Time, something you can never get back. Your time and money will not be wasted.
Rating: Summary: Needs an update, but still wirth the money Review: 6/29/02 I needed Principles of Management for a prerequisite to get into an MBA program. Took the test 3 days ago. Several questions on the test, especially relating to people who'd developed theories, were never covered in the study guide. I think they probably need to release a revised edition. The study guide still describes the test as a #2 pencil, color-the-ballons test. Today it's on computer. I liked the short, direct-to-the-point format of the book. I read it once, working all the problems as I read. Then I read it all again and reviewed the questions before taking the test. I was told that scores range from 20-80. Mine was 78. I don't see why anyone would take a college course when they could buy this study guide, spend 8-10 hours studying, and then pass the CLEP.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book Review: All of the material was relevant with very little fluff. Covers all of the material in a very concise manner. I studied for about 6 hours and scored in the low 90s percentile.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: An great review for the CLEP test. Scored 68 and did not even study as hard as I should have for the test. I recommend this book to anyone needing to CLEP this course.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding Review: Book is a must have. Gives all information needed for the exam. Only about 6-8 hours needed to conquer the test and save a semester.
Rating: Summary: All CLEP guides should be like this one! Review: Decent study guide for the CLEP Principles of Management exam. I used the older version of the text and passed easily on the computer-based exam after just 2 weeks of study time--a real bargain compared to what I would have spent in time and tuition $$ taking the actual course!!
Rating: Summary: All You Need to Pass Principles of Management Review: First, I can say with 100% certainty that this book is suffcient on it's own to pass the CLEP subject exam Principles of Management. The book was my sole source of study material and I passed in the 80th percentile. I have never taken a business or management course before. This book has been distilled down to contain only the information you need to know - there is absolutely no filler material. The entire book is 111 pages. Out of that, 85 pages are devoted to subject material and chapter tests and the remaining pages have two review tests. After the end of each chapter, there is a summary page listing important people and what they are noted for and a list of key words, phrases & abbreviations. The practice tests are helpful. The answers contain explanations and although they are not nearly as comprehensive as the REA books, they are suffcient. One last word...when I took the CLEP test, there were several questions pertaining to people and what theories they developed. They were in the book and I studied them, but would have probably gotten a few more answers correct if I had really concentrated on knowing it. This is an excellent study guide for preparing for the CLEP exam Principles of Management.
Rating: Summary: a non-management /business student Review: for those of you who are not management/business students I would suggest using this book along with another referrence. I just took the clep and although I came in the 71st percentile I don't give this book all the credit-a lot of common sence on the exam. However, I believe only about 30% of the context from the exam was noted to be in the review book. good luck to all.
Rating: Summary: This is THE book for the Principles of Management CLEP test! Review: I am an MBA student and needed to either take this class or CLEP it, since I did not get my undergraduate degree in business. I passed the exam with a 72 (needed a 52), and studied off-and-on for about 3 weeks. I only used this bookand my first 2 weeks of my Organizational behavior class as a reference. Know all about the different management theories described in this guide, as well as who the theorist is and how it relates to other management theories. This book is absolutely fantastic, and I cannot recommend it enough. Off to take the CLEP test for Principles of Marketing next week!
Rating: Summary: The only book you'll need Review: I am not a business major and I haven't attended a college class in 10 years. I studied this book for 2 weeks off and on; read it, take a test, review your weak areas and test again. Once your sample test score is passing then focus on the theories who wrote it, how it works and how it is applied to a real life situation. I scored a 73 and finished the test in less than an hour, the test isn't easy but this book gives you what you need to know!
