Rating: Summary: An Excellent Selection Review: The book, Remember Not to Forget, recounts the horror of the Holocaust in words children can understand. This story begins when a German man is visiting Jerusalem, Israel, for the feast of Passover. He enters a souvenir store, looking for something to buy in remembrance of his trip. The man decides to buy a Jewish candelabra. As the shopkeeper reaches to hand him the candelabra, the man notices a set of number tattooed on the shopkeeper's arm - numbers from a concentration camp. The story continues with the history of anti-Semitism and the story of the Holocaust. It ends with a description of the Yad Vashem, a national institution in Israel established to study and research the Holocaust. I highly recommend this book to both children and adults seeking information on the holocaust.
