Rating: Summary: Amazing! Review: When i first heard about the book "Raising Dragons" my mom had bought it for me because she had been noticed that I started reading again. So at first I was hesitant to read the book, I read a couple of pages in school, and it got better and better! When I was home for the weekend I took the whole weekend to read it, I seriuosly couldn't put it down!
This book is about Billy Bannister, an 11 year old boy who is in Middle School and is being teased on by a bully. The bully calls him, "dragon breath" when he startes to breath on a beaker in science to heat it up.
Another character is Bonnie Silver, she also is being teased on for always wearing a backpack. Behind the backpack she hides her "deformity," that she doesn't want anyone to see.
That is just the a basic summory about the book, it is an awesome story and Bryan Davis really captures how 11 year old boys and girls act at school and around there parents.
Rating: Summary: Raising Dragons raises the bar Review: Excellent fantasy. Captivating. Fast-paced. Well-written. My thirteen year old could not put it down and either could I. Can't say enough good things about this book. Buy it. Read it. Pass it on.
Rating: Summary: Raising Dragons- A MUST READ Review: I am a lover of Dragons. The problem is, it's hard to find any dragon books these days, or ones that atleast are my grade level. *^^* I found this book, while looking in a Christina Book store. I read some of it and I loved it. I have a charater, that I made, who is just like Bonnie(who also has a 'deformity'); in which made me feel like it was my character.
I love this book, and I would recommend this book to every one. I am 14 years old, even though this book is for up to 12, I still love this book. I think Dragon lovers all over will love this book, because of its creativity, fantasy, and wonderful charm. This is one of the few, good, dragon books, I think, that doesn't contain any gore, or swearing, has alot of action and that the dragons are the heros, not companions or rival/enemy.
I think Bryan Davis has done a wonderful job... I hope to write a good dragon book like him when I get older. Keep it up Bryan! I want to read ALL the books before I'm 15 or 16! Thank you for these WONDERFUL books!!! I hope to get the 2nd one for my b-day! When's the 3rd one coming out?
BTW, the third one is called 'Circles of Seven'.[...]
Rating: Summary: A must-have! Review: I met Bryan Davis (author) at a homeschool conference, and bought the first book in the series. I was hooked! As soon as the second book was out, I had ordered it, I am (and plan to continue to be) a fan of these books and strongly urge you to read this series. A great work, containing a story of faith, chivalry, honor, and much more!
Rating: Summary: a review by eaglewing7 Review: In Raising Dragons, Bryan Davis combines vibrant, realistic characters with exciting elements of fantasy to create an original and unforgettable story.
Billy and Bonnie, two teenagers with dragon blood, find each other just in time. As their worlds are shaken to the core, they learn to rely on their friendship and faith.
Raising Dragons is a must read--especially for guys. The action is non-stop and the knight's code Bryan resurrects is worth investigation. Can't wait for my boys to be old enough for me to read this to them.
Rating: Summary: Late Night Reading Review: In Raising Dragons, Bryan Davis has infused fantasy into every teenager's normal high school experience. The result is riveting. The adventure mixes believable characters with heart-thumping suspense. Readers will be furiously reading late into the night.
Rating: Summary: Raising Dragons Review: Incredible, hair-raising adventure. Definitely one of the best Christian fiction books since The Chronicles of Narnia. Filled with action, a lot of wit, suspence, everything rolled into one! The Candlestone is even better! I would recommend this to anyone that asked me about a good book.
Rating: Summary: A THRILLING piece of literature! (...) Review: We were at a homeschool conference and we were asked to review this book. I started it the next day and I finished both books in the series in two days. I couldn't put them down. I love all of the characters! Billy, Bonnie, Walter, the professor....it's beautifully written and very exciting. I can't wait until the next one comes out! (...)
