Rating: Summary: The Suicide Jump Review: "Jumping the Nail" is about a teenager named Dru, her boyfriend Mike and a 90 foot plunge called the "Nail" in Southern California. Dru's troubled friend Elisa wants to prove her love to Scooter, her boyfriend, by jumping with him. Because of all this Dru and Mike try to stop this from going too far or something even worse. I really like the suspense this book gives the reader. You always want to read another page. This book is also fast paced and it was hard to put down. I think anyone would like this book ages 12 on up. This is a book that everyone would enjoy, but especially teenagers. I think the message in this story is that proving the unnecessary can be harmful in many ways.

Rating: Summary: Jump Of A Lifetime Review: In Eve Bunting's book, "Jumping The Nail", teenagers in La Paloma, California, are taking the jump of a lifetime off the 90-foot tall "Nail". In the story Dru, a recent high school graduate is planning on attending college at Northwestern University. Her boyfriend, Mike, will be attending college much closer to home. The teens in town are enjoying their summer, until peer pressure drives one couple to jump the "Nail", which then leads to others jumping. Scooter Navarro and his girlfriend Elisa (Dru's best friend) are the first couple to jump the death defying "Nail". After making the jump safely Dru realizes that her friend Elisa is not acting like herself. Elisa confides to Dru that during her jump she saw a drowned girl at the bottom of the ocean. Elisa is acting weird due to her depression, and she thinks the drowned girl is going to come and get her. Meanwhile there is a rivalry going on between two brothers and a boy named Hopi, over a girl named Diane. To prove to Diane that they are "real men", the two brothers decide to jump the "Nail". To make things even more exciting they decide to make the jump at night with all their friends watching. The two brothers make the jump and then something happens that nobody could have expected. I liked this book because it was full of suspense and it kept me interested until the very last page. One of the things I especially liked about this story is that it dealt with one of the worst kinds of peer pressure. I would highly recommend this book. The people that would enjoy this book the most are young teens, both male and female.
Rating: Summary: Jumping The Nail Review: In the book Jumping The Nail Teenagers find a new pastime, jumping a 90 foot cliff called the nail. The book is set in Los Paloma. Dru is worried about her friend Elisa after jumping the nail with her forceful boyfriend Scooter. Fallowed by continous events. What the auhtor is saaying is don't go do somthing that you'll regret later in life. What i liked about the book is the great action and mistory parts of the boook. For example the book would state an event and that unsolved event would glue you to the book until the solution is told. What i didn;t like about the book is that it had and an ending and i had to finish the book, in a nutshell it was a great book. This book is very understandable. i think that pretty much anyone into action, mistrory, love and some other things rolled into one can easily read this book and enjoy it. Anyone from ages 10 to 13+ can read this book whether your a boy or girl, woman or man. people with a reading abiity of about 5th grade and up can easily read this book withouy struggling. Anyone from any backround cultre or even religion can sit down and read this book. According to me, I can read this book over and over until I go blind
Rating: Summary: jumping the nail the way I read it Review: In this book a group of teenagers find a thrile in jumping the nail(a cliff at the oceans edge). It all starts when two kids jump to prove their love to eachother. Its the bigest rush of adrenaline ever the boy,Scooter, says. but while they are down there the girl,Elsa sees somthing down ther, somthing that scares her.My favorite part of the book was the end it was so nice to find out what happend to everyone and to finally know how it stopped. Any one who loves slite suspense will love this book.
Rating: Summary: This is a must-read book for wild and independant teens. Review: In this story, Dru, the main character, finds herself worrying about her friend Elisa and her guy, Scooter. Little did she know that worrying might not be enough to save her friend's lives. Dru lives close to a teen jumping spot, The Nail. When the couple decide to jump it, Dru seems more worried than ever. She knows that someone hit the buldge and almost got killed. She doesn't want that to happen to Elisa. This is a must-read for teens that think that being wild is phat, because something just might happen.
Rating: Summary: Jumping The Nail Review: Jumping The Nail is one of the best books I have ever read. It takes place in La Paloma, CA where Dru, Mike, Scooter, and Elisa live. La Paloma is the home of a ninety foot cliff called the Nail. Scooter and his girlfriend, Elisa, plan to jump off the Nail. No one in La Paloma has jumped from the Nail ever since the terrible accident ten years. Before Dru and Mike can stop them, Scooter and Elisa jump. After the jump, Elisa starts speaking about something mysterious she saw in the water. This book is appropriate for the ages 12 and up. I think that people who like suspense and romance will enjoy this book. Jumping The Nail contains a little romance, it shows the importance of friendship, and it shows the danger of taking chances.
Rating: Summary: Jumping the Nail, really cool! Review: The book takes place in Southern California near the beach. The characters Mike Moriarty, Dru Driscoll, Scooter Navarro, and Elisa Fratello are all high school graduates. This story is about The Nail this high cliff that kids like too jump off into the deep, deep, deep water. Scooter talks Elisa his girlfriend into jumping the Nail but she is very scared and not a very strong person. She will do things to please other people. Then other kids started to talk about jumping. Mike and Dru were strong people and tried to stop people from making bad choices. In life bad choices can last longer then one moment of fun that could change your life forever, all in the name of love. It's about kids talking kids into doing things they really don't want to do. The part that I liked was when Elisa was in the water and she thought the girl who was in the car grabbed her foot and told "her to stay with her." Both Boys and girls age 13 and up would like to read this book. This book talks about interesting choices you have make everyday it's like jumping the Nail everyday. The book talks about all different types of people and social levels and everybody still has to make choices good or bad. In the end you make the final choice. The book has some twist and scary stuff in it.
