Review: +Zia is such a awsome story! It is about a girl named Zia who is Karanas neice,she lives at the mission Santa Barbara with her little brother Mando.One day Mando and Zia find a old whale boat that drifted up onto shore and decide to use it to go and rescue Karana from the Island Of The Blue Dolphins. Im not gonna say any more about what happens because you will have to find out for your self.

Review: A fourteen-year-old Indian girl named Zia lives in the Santa Barbara Mission with her brother Mando. They find a boat on the shore near the mission and decide to go on a trip to the Island of the Blue Dolphins to find their Aunt Karana. On their way, they see the ship the boat had originally belonged to, and they try to outrun it, but it captures them. They manage to escape from the ship, but do not find their aunt. After returning, Zia asks a sailor and a priest from the mission to go to the island and get their aunt. They say they will, but only if she makes them a sail for their ship, Zia makes it for them, and they leave. While they are gone, some of the people at the mission plan to escape because they hate it so much. They leave, but Zia gets blamed for their escape and has to go to jail since she helped them leave.

This is a good book for people who like historical fiction and strong, determined girls. It is very adventurous and suspenseful. I recommend this book to people of all ages.

Review: his indeed was a very adventuring story. But the cover stinks!(At least the old version)The girl looked blink and ignorent.And it makes you want to look at the cover,and throw it away.

Yet, when I read the back, I thought I could take a chance with this book, I wasn't much interested in a Native American book.But since I had nothing to do, why don't I read?

Summary: Way Better Than Island Of The Dolphins
Review: I had to read Island of The Blue Dolphins in class and it was so boring. Many times I had my mother read it to me. Carina's plot just wasn't interesting. The whole idea of Carina being left behind and looking for her brother just didn't really give alot into it. About one year later, I picked up the book "Zia" at the library and thought 'This is gonna be like the first, boring plot'. Boy was I wrong. In "Zia", Carina's sister had children with a spanish man, making Zia and her little brother. When Zia finds this boat, she immediately wants to go to The Island and rescue her long lost aunt. On the way to the island, a group of men stop her and make both Zia and her brother slaves. I read this book in two days because it has so many turning points. Will Zia and her brother make it off the slave ship? Will they ever be united with their long awaited aunt? You'll have to read this story in order to find out.

Review: I had to read this book because of a school project. This was a terrible book. I hated it from the beginning because it had no plot, story line, or good characters. About halfway through the book, one of the main characters, Mando, just left. it didn't say where or why he left, but Scott O'Dell didn't bring him back in the book. I am a little glad because Mando was just a pain. But unfortuanatly, Zia stayed. She was in every scene and was very boring. If anyone wants to read it, then i hope this helps you... THROW IT AWAY!!!

Review: Scott O'Dell is an awesome author! I've read two books by him and I loved them both, they are Island of the Blue Dolphins and Zia. Zia is the sequel to Island of the Blue Dolphins but you don't have to read Island of the Blue Dolphins first. Zia is about a girl who wants to go to Island of the Blue Dolphins and save her aunt Karana. Zia and her brother Mando find a boat washed up on the beach. They fix it up and want to use to sail to the Island of the Blue Dolphins. Do they make it to the island? Do they find Karana? Read the book and find out!

Review: The plot of the story was about a girl named Zia and her brother Mando who where determined to find their Aunt Karana on the Island of the Blue Dolphins. They lived at a mission and worked there too. They found a row boat that washed a shore after a hurricane. The boat had the word Boston and then the letter "B" and then the letter "Y ". Later they found out that the name was "Boston boy" .

Zia and Mando decided that they would take the boat and sail to the Island of the Blue Dolphins and look for their Aunt Karana. So they gathered food and another oar because the boat had came with one oar and a sail. After about a month they where ready to sail.

Unfortunately they didn't make it. But Zia talked with a captain that lived on a hill on her Island. He said that he was sailing to the Island in a few months. When the time came he sailed to the Island. He came back a few weeks later to find all the people gone but he found Karana. They found Zia in jail. A few days later she was let go and she met her aunt. About 6 months later Karana died and Zia took her dog that Karana left behind. I'll leave the rest for you to read!

Review: Zia by Scott O' Dell is the sequel to Island of the Blue Dolphins, which was about a girl named Karana's adventures stranded on an island and trying to survive. Zia is a 14 year old girl who lives on an island off of California. She and her brother Mando find an abandoned boat. They fix it up and want to find their Aunt Karana on the Island of the Blue Dolphins. They set off in their little boat and try to find her. An unexpected adventure that occurs is that Mando and Zia are taken aboard a whaling ship. They are set to work like slaves and they don't know if they can get to their Aunt Karana or even survive. Do they find her? What happens on the adventure? Find out by reading Zia.
I like Zia because it has realistic events taking place. I also like it because most of the scenes have Zia in them and they are full of action. The descriptions in the book really make you feel like you are there on the adventures. I also like the adventurous storyline. The author really makes you ask yourself "what if" questions, so you want to read on. This book wasn't as good as the Island of the Blue Dolphins because some of the parts in Zia are kind of boring, and in the Island of the Blue Dolphins everything is exciting, but Zia is still a really good book.
