Review: The Highroad series of guidebooks is a blessing to anyone wanting to explore the mountains. The North Carolina guide is no exception. The author includes detailed, up-to-date information on trails, camping, rivers and other areas of interest for lovers of the outdoors. The book includes not only the well-known places but also out-of-the-way, obscure sites well worth a visit. The maps are a plus. If only I had this guide when I lived in North Carolina!
