Summary: Great atlas for bargain money
Review: If you thought about buying The (5 star) Times Atlas of World History, but got scared by the high price, this is the deal for you: You can get virtually identical (except for one insignificant map and 20 pages Dictionary of Historical Terms) atlas by the same authors, of the same good edition quality for more than 3 times less. Go for it. However if you want to learn more about specific historical period in particular area, better reach for more specialized atlas.

Summary: An awful over-priced product
Review: The Longman World History Atlas is over-priced and under-researched. Only the most minimal amount of infomation is conveyed. Global maps are divided by the spine so as to be worthless. The whole project is unimaginative. This book not worth half the price charged. I wish Anchor Books would up-date their pocket atlas with more attention to the nonwestern world. It was superior in every way to the Longman product.
