Summary: Pictorial is Right!
Review: I have quite a few books on Lighthouses. This is absolutely the best I have seen for really giving you a feel of the lighthouses. Each lighthouse is show from different viewpoints. There are closeup views and views showing the area around the lighthouse. Maps are included showing a general area and smaller maps show the location with major highways marked. Driving directions are also included. This is truly a book worth visiting again and again.

Summary: Field Guide for lighthouses
Review: Like her Maine guide, this is a comprehensive field guide for lighthouse seekers and lighthouse lovers. She tells you history, lots of photos, maps, directions how to get there and how to photograph them.

The book's main flaw is that is graphic design is rather weak. It's not a beautiful coffee-table book, as it could be. The photos are packed in, and reproduced around 2x3 size.

Summary: Lighthouse of Atlantic Canada
Review: This book caught my eye in a pub called the Loyal Oarsman in Kingston Ontario. My wife and I have enjoyed visiting lighthouses over the years. Most recently we were touring the easten provinces of Canada. This book is a pictorial tour of the variety of lighthouses in this part of North America. The pictures are large and detailed enough to clearly see the unique physical characteristics of each lighthouse. The pictures also show enough of the background and forgraound to give you a sense of the setting where the lighthouse is located. Just the kind of book to inspire planning to visit a few lighthouses on your next trip to the east coast. A great coffee table book for your living room, waiting room or study. Also excellent for school libraries. Was nice to see this in a pub, along with a variety of other unique books. I hope that this book is reprinted in hardcover. Would like a copy of my own. Would also be great as a screensaver on my computer or PalmPilot.
