Summary: Informative but opinionated
Review: The beginning of this book is great for those who love to read about how Disneyland developed, costs and ideas. However the rest of the book is full of "facts" that mean something to the writer but really don't mean much to the Disneyland fanatic, like I am. You would have to live in a bubble to not think that accidents happen, employees play pranks on guests and co-workers etc. Nothing in this book really shocked me or made me question my love for the Happiest Place on Earth.

Summary: FOR DISNEY INSIDERS
Review: I am a huge Disney fan. I have been to Disneyland and Disneyworld many times, and found this book very interesting, and suprisingly, very funny. When I first saw this book, I thought it would just show some behind-the-scenes things that go on at Disneyland. It definitely does a lot of that, but what makes this book so great is all of the funny stories it tells about things that have happened at Disneyland. However there are also some stories that are not so funny, but very interesting. If you are someone who does not want to think that Disney does anything bad, DO NOT READ THIS. It tells about some of the bad things the company has done to try and not ruin it's squeaky clean image. But still, it s a good book for any Disney fan to read. If you have ever been to Disneyland, and want to hear some good, funny stories about the park, read this. But if you don't want to hear about the bad things the company does, pass on this book.

Summary: No thanks
Review: This book was not well written. It is just one big run on sentence. Most of the one-liner stories in the book are just silly, undocumented hearsay. Don't even waste your time.

Summary: So much behind the scenes info!
Review: For anyone who is a fan of Disney anything, such as myself, this is a great book. It's packed with stories of the brilliant Walt himself, and all the quirky things he would have cast members do before opening the park for the day, as well as there are cast member stories of all the shenangans that guests would do and rituals that you never get to know when you are inside the "Magic Kingdom". I adored the book and it's sequel, and being a cast member of the company myself, it makes me smile to think that not only does the average American check his/her brain at the door when they visit us at our site, but they check it when they enter that enchanted wonderland as well! The book is a great read and is filled with many humorous moments from the park's history.

Summary: oh man, this is so funny, i love it!
Review: i read this book for the first time when i worked at the gannon university library in the library services room. I read the front and back cover,,and suddenly all my work for the day didn't seem to matter anymore. I stopped labeling and repairing old books and just started reading a little. In no time at all i was dying of laughter and totally amazed at the stories. needless to say i did a little work that day, but by the end of the week i finished the book and it was one of the most memorable of my life. hhaaa..

Summary: Very good book.....
Review: When I first picked it up, I thought it was going to focus on the "normal" workday of a Disney employee. Instead I got something worth reading. I learned about the accidents that have happened in the "Magical Kingdom". ...It provides stories from people who used to work there, some are pretty funny. So if you are looking for a behind the scenes look at Disney Land along with a mix or comedy thrown in, this book is for you.

Summary: Your Passport to Disneyland
Review: "Mouse Tales : A Behind-The-Ears Look at Disneyland
by David Koenig," was EXACTLY what I was hoping for when I made the purchase.

After being strangely captivated by Disneyland during a recent visit, a passion came over me to find out as much information about Disneyland as possible! Mouse Tales satisfied that need. From the park's history, struggles, successes, secrets, and characters to its few unfortunate situations, Mouse Tales delivers the story to you!

This is "your" passport to the little known about world of Disneyland.

Summary: Delivers on what it promises
Review: If you're looking for the hilarious behind-the-scenes dope on what really goes on in the Magic Kingdom, you won't be disappointed by this book.

I read it just before I went to Disneyland the last time, and highlighted some of the more curious passages. Then, while waiting in the interminable lines, we pulled it out of our backpack and read the anecdotes to each other. This made our trip to Disneyland far more interesting than it otherwise would have been (i.e. without the book handy, we would've been at a loss to remember the location of Walt's private apartment above the Fire House, and the forbidden door of Club 33--the snobbiest thing I've ever heard of in my life).

After reading the book, I have both more and less respect for the way Disneyland does business. More, in the sense that when they believe they're in the right, they fight for it in court; and less, seeing how guests are maniupulated and employees abused.

Summary: Interesting
Review: I picked up this book because I wanted to research Disneyland even further. I currently work there. The book covers the history, the attractions, the workers, guests, future plans, and lawsuits the park has had. What I found to be the most interesting were the tales of guests getting out of hand. I could definitley relate to some of the experiences. Another wonderful chapter are the stories about rides. You'll find out which rides are the most dangerous, the most costly, and have the most unhappy workers. You'll find out which ride gave some lucky tourists "the dirty version". A revealing chapter is also written about the characters. You'll read about the bodily harm they endure on a weekly basis. The most touching part of the book talks about the day that Walt died. The only thing I would have changed is the fact that Eisner is not discussed much at all. I've been wanting to know more about him. This book was written very fairly and accurately. I would recommend this book to anybody curious about Disneyland.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great for anyone who's more than a casual tourist!
Review: I'll admit that I'm a Disneyland fan, and I purchased this book to learn more about the behind-the-scenes world of the theme park.

I wasn't disappointed. Koenig presents varying looks at all aspects of the park, from the original planning and design, to disgruntled staff members, to tales of "stupid guest tricks".

This book is an amusing read for anyone who has ever been to the park, as it shines light into areas not often discussed. Various topics from the book can be great conversation pieces, and after reading the book I guarantee you that on your next trip to Disneyland you'll be looking at things differently.
