Summary: Show me my room
Review: I can't be overly impressed with any book that features places to stay on vacation, which doesn't show the actual bedrooms. Do we sleep in the lobbies or in front of the hotel in the street? No, we sleep in the bedroom, that's where we spend the most time so that is what I am most interested in learning about, accompanied by the quality of service and ammenities.This book has beautiful pictures of everything but the rooms. There is one small black and white of a mediocre option. Other than this glaring shortcoming, it provides travel advice and background information. The idea, of course, is wonderful, to stay in these family run, historic residences. So, show us the rooms !

Review: I have never been to Tuscany nor even Italy, but after this book, I can hardly wait to go. If the author and photographer were able to stay in all the places mentioned, they were truly lucky. I have lent this book to friends who HAVE been to Tuscany, and mostly they are sorry they missed so many of the beautiful homes etc. But, universally, they say that it gives them a good excuse to go back for another visit! Well done to both author and photographer!
