Review: DK Eyewitness has made a strong reputation in the area of travel guides by producing books with excellent visuals. Their books are best suited to the older European cities with the medieval cathedrals, castles, fortresses, complicated historical timelines, and colorful art.

So the book and the DK guide approach is perfect for Lisbon with its art and history. The book is ideal to show the history of Lisbon, the art, the culture, all the historical spots in photographs and cut away views that jump off of the pages. The stone work and yellow cements of Lisbon as seen in the setting sun of the day, are beautifully captured by DK.

The book is short but excellent and makes a fine souvenir. It contains all the maps and restaurant and hotel information as similar guides. A quick glance at the book transports me back to my week there drinking the famous aged port at a small seaside restaurant.
