Rating: Summary: Excellent, accurate and complete Review: I just returned from Puerto Rico and used Let's Go, Lonely Planet PR, and Explore Puerto Rico. Let's Go was the most complete and accurate of the bunch (it is the most recently published of the three). LP was a close second, but if you have to choose one, I would buy Let's Go. I noticed that Let's Go isn't geared to the college student looking for the best parties while travelling anymore or for the cheapest hole in the ground to crash - there are a range of options for any independent traveller. It was also clear that the writers did experience first-hand everything they wrote about. The details were impressive and useful. If you want a second book on PR, Lonely planet would be it. I would not recommend Harry Pariser's Explore Puerto Rico - this a very disappointing book and I'm sorry I paid $$ for it.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Review: I'm from Puerto Rico and out of curiosity, I browsed through LG Puerto Rico. This is *the* travel guide for Puerto Rico. Not only is it more detailed than Lonely Planet and others, but it also gives the reader an up close and personal glance to all the fun things you can do on the island. Don't think twice. Buy this book over all others.
Rating: Summary: Good for college students Review: This is a well-presented, readable guide. However, it is lacking in background information--which we found more of in Explore Puerto Rico and the drier Lonely Planet guide. It is good as a supplement. However, I would use Explore Puerto Rico or one of the other guides as my main guide. What we found really useful was all of the websites and e-mails that are listed in depth in Explore Puerto Rico. This really helped us plan our trip. Let's Go guides are written by Harvard college students and the tone and content reflect this.
Rating: Summary: Let's go rocks Review: We just returned from Puerto Rico and thanks to Let's Go we had a fabulous time. Information in there is extremely accurate and all the essential information is provided. I did take another book (Frommer's guide) and that was hopeless.
