Rating: Summary: An enlightening guide to a fantastic island Review: I want to suggest this book to everyone who is planning some "special" holiday. Coming originally from Sardinia and being in love with this wonderful island, I have always been disappointed by the poor information about it that was available abroad. Sardinia is generally left out by people planning a trip in Italy. And this is a real pity, since it has a lot to offer to every kind of travellers. This book gives a fairly complete overview of all the aspects that make Sardinia unique: the beutiful sea locations, from beaches with pink sand to enormous rocks abruptly surging from the water; the imposing prehistorical nuraghi whose origin and function are still mysterious; the wild nature of the Supramonte, in the center of the island, ideal for the trekkers; the special culture of Sardinian people, subject to many different influences along the centuries what made them very different from people living in continental Italy. And I can go on and on for hours. I strongly suggest: buy this book and go to Sardinia. You will not be disappointed!
