Rating: Summary: a little disappointed Review: I had the Lets Go Europe in 2000 and thought it was very helpful. The maps were accurate and the hotels and tips were really useful. I was hoping to get the same for Greece and even though it is not their fault that Greek ferry schedules and bus schedules never run the times listed, this is a huge concern for budget travelers who need to plan in order to travel from one place to another. I found the tips to be somewhat misleading and the information to not be that accurate. I thought the Athens tips were really off, and there are parts of Athens that scared the crap out of me and were listed in the book as regular places to hang out. I was told by the locals however, that there is serious drug trades around the area. I think people should do a bit more research before selling a book that is so off. Also, the metro system, COMPLETLY different. I know that given the Olympics it was probably in the works, but publishers of these kinds of books should get planned out maps. We spent over 70 dollars to get from the airport to our hotels in downtown Athens, and all you need to do it take the metro for 7 bucks! Ridiculous, and should have been stated in the book.
That being said, it helped me plan out the vacation ahead of time and get a sense of what I wanted to do. But again, it wasn't helpful once I got there.
