Rating: Summary: Excellent Guide Review: Let's Go was an invaluable part of our trip to Europe. It has a lot of countries you probably wont be visiting, so the weight of the book can seem daunting at times. It's defiantly not a pocket guide, but it does a great job of listing where to sleep, eat and have fun in each city. I would say it doesn't offer much commentary or advice on the actual sites (get an Eyewitness guide for that) but is essential for it's hostel/hotel listings. The information was very accurate (although the prices have gone up a little) and the transit time information was great for planning an itinerary ahead of time. As far as overall resourcefulness, I would say it beat Rick Steve's, Eyewitness and Lonely Planet. It's also oriented towards people who want to have fun and is the best guide for nightlife listings.
Rating: Summary: Big improvement! Review: Well, they say that Let's Go is the Bible of the Budget Traveller, and that's certainly proved true in the latest edition of Let's Go: Europe. I've travelled with Let's Go: Europe twice now, and I wouldn't use any other series. The first time I used the '98 guide, which quite frankly was not as good as Lonely Planet. But the 2000 guide has fixed those problems. They certainly know the budget travel spots, always looking out for students like myself who don't have too much cash. Let's Go: Europe includes helpful hints on the cultural quirks of each destination. For the youthful traveller looking to have fun, Let's Go is the guidebook to pick.
