Review: I just want to point out that the authors of the book are Sherry Irvine AND Nora M. Hickey. The book is erroneously listed as being written bu one person named "Nora Hickey Irvine". Maybe this can be corrected to make it easier to find.

Summary: Credit where Credit is due
Review: Nora M. Hickey has been conducting special weeks in Dublin for those researching their Irish Ancestry for many years - this guide originally was written as an aid in planning such trips and the lion's share of the information found in this booklet is based upon Nora's experience and knowledge of the ins and outs surrounding sucessful research in Ireland.

Irish Reseearch is very tricky given limitations involving disclosure of records or access to record books. Nora has worked hard to prepare potential researchers for visits to Ireland ahead of time in ways that will produce positive results once you arrive!

Do a Google search to find Nora's website which details upcoming research trip opportunities! If you can, I highly suggest that you get this little gem of a book then "plug in" with Nora to take your research from nowhere to somewhere!

I've had the pleasure of knowing, working with and hearing lectures by Nora for many years thus know I am only echoing the sentiment of many who are eagerly looking forward to her next edition of this gem of a tool!

Summary: Excellent, Professional guide to archive research in Ireland
Review: This is a fantastic, thorough and (most importantly) readable guide to the daunting ask of attempting family history research in Ireland. It is obvious that the authors have plenty of experience with the subject, and offer some unexpected and well thought out advice. I found it very helpful.
